ALL THAT HAS TO BE DONE IS TO SIMPLY BUY THE FUCKIN RECORDS AND NOT BURN THE SHIT!!! LIKE SAN QUIN AND B-LA SAID IN PREVIOUS INTERNET INTERVIEWS CALI HAS ONE OF IF NOT THE HIGHEST MUSIC DOWNLOAD RATE IN THE COUNTRY.. I UNDERSTAND THAT ALBUM PRICES OF TODAY ARE HIGH AS FUCK AND MOST OF US HATE TO TAKE A RISK OF DROPPIN 20 ON A BULLSHIT ALBUM BUT MAYBE JUST MAYBE THE ARTISTS AND THE FANS COULD JUST MEET HALF WAY THEN NOT ONLY WOULD THE ARTISTS PUT OUT THE MUSIC WE WANT BUT SELLS WOULD ACTUALLY GO UP AND EVERYONE IS HAPPY... REAL SPEECH!!!

That's cool, but we get this thread every week or so.

Also, are there any reports or stats that people can look at that back the downloading claim? I see and hear people say that a lot, but have never seen the numbers.

its alot bigger than just cali buying records if everyone always purchased cds itd still be the same shit i think its about getting love in other regions besides yours that constitutes an artist blowing up
The majors look at sales in the artists home region though. Majors aren't willing to take a chance on someone if they feel like the artist will have a hard time selling in his own backyard. Houston is a perfect example of this. The consumers in that region are as sophistacted technologically as we are so they actually purchase the music. That's why cats like Mike Jones and Slim Thug were able to sell 100,000 - 200,000 copies in the south alone.

i think mik jones and slim thug sold because they had a hit single with still tippin

but i hear u on that tho an artist needs to already have something to bring to the table
You're 100% wrong cuzzin. They moved them units BEFORE still tippin and WAY BEFORE they ever had a national record contract. Texas just supports their local artists. Thats how some sorry ass rapper like Mike Jones can blow up in the first place.
