what are these mics best for? (highs, lows,etc.)
vocals,life performences,acoustic instruments and drums. personally i would choose the 3000b and the nueman. thats because i like AKG products...and i used 2 nuemans on every song i cut for my album. so i have a BIAS towards those products. when it comes down to what the mic is picking up check teh frequency responses. after that its really up to the ROOM,what your running it through and the PERFORMER. im a VERY sibilant person but you wouldnt get the same results with those same mics if you tracked youngmoe (who has a deep voice).
it comes down to "right mic for the right job"

they all fall within the $450-$999 range. the blue and nueman are most expensive.

thats really up to you. if you can buy all of them do so. if you can buy two of them get the nueman and blue (scratch the akg). if you have a grand to spend you can get 2 of the lower priced ones (akg and the projects c3).
