I just wanted to share a vintage Tech N9ne moment with the Strange Music forum. I remember after the magazine was published Tech told me that we were the first media outlet to spell his name correctly. I also remember that this was also the first time many of his fans saw him and could finally put the face with the name.

when was this?
This was back in the fall of 1998. It was the beginning of a beautiful run for a locally published, glossy magazine "Dedicated to Hip-Hop in the Midwest". Heavenly fate made it so that the first issue of MoCheez magazine featured Tech N9ne on the cover. We called it the "Doing Big Thangs in KC" issue. Because at the time we felt the magazine had the potential to go big and Tech was doing it bigger than any rap artist in KC at that time. He had national distribution and a decent budget for a new artist. His budget was bigger than Nelly's first deal. This cover established Tech as the trendsetter for KC Hip-Hop and everybody has been trying to catch up ever since.
