I just read a thread "2Pac and BIG:Studio Gangstaz?" and I just gotta say that if ya wanna know who defines studio gangsta, it's Ja Fool without a doubt 'cause 50 Not Worth A Cent said in an interview with Sway on MTV that Ja has an "image" of Murder Inc. and himself as "gangstas" and Ja is rapping about shit he's never lived in his life. First thing when 50 hit and he talked about being shot 9 times peeps started saying he's gangsta. Anybody can get shot 9 times. Anyways, why do some fools think that to be street credible you have to be a thug? Dumb motherfuckers act like it's a rule in hip-hop but it ain't. I'm street credible but I'm not a thug because it ain't the life I know. What I do know is that I'm from the hood and I'm strugglin as an aspiring MC and I have haters in my household and I hate these paid bullshitters in the game who make free money doin' repetitive shit like talkin' 'bout cars, money, bitches, how many niggas they fuck, etc. plus I got other subjects I can spit on. Please respond to this with related posts about how you feel and no bullshit either when ya post!

If your gonna talk about something, you better back the shit up cause sooner or later someone is gonna call you on it.

on a side note, about 2% of the people on this board actually have street credibility.

On topic, How exactly do you define being Street Credible?

I can understand that being an inspiring MC you might not want to use the same subjects used frequently by artists labeled "gangsta" or "thuggish". But int he same breath you are trying to prove to have street credit, but isnt that the whole motivating factor behind alot of gangsta rap?

Or are you just current on the lingo and clothing styles without the consequences of actually being Street Credible?

Dogg, When I Journey Baccwards The PSYCHOLOGICAL Warfare aspect of Street Credibility....Bacc when It was In the Game...You had to Pay to Play...L.A. Was one Big John Wayne Movie...Shoot em' Up Bang Bang..Like the Western Fliccs...Except in order To accomodate Crediblity You weren't Jaccing Steam Trains or Stage Coaches....A lot of my Beloved were Seeking ''Cred''....Me..My head was in the Clouds from 9 to 9 ....Credit is about Strategy...Credibility in the street is like Choreography to Dance....

It's raining Bullet's outside....Don't get wet....

You don't ever judge a Niccas Credibility until you have strolled in his Nikes....Then call it How you see it..

i dont think you yourself can define ur street credibliity, its the ones of the street who know and have heard of you who do that. which brings up the phrase 'live by your rep'. ur reputation for what you've done on the streets could be a factor in defining ur street credibility. where ur from, how you came up, what you've done in the past, how people see you and what ur known for are more. have you earned ur respect on the streets? do you abide by the street laws ( not many still believe in those ) ? do these streets respect you? are you the man or woman that ur rep says you are? have you lived the kind of lifestyle you claim to live? are you a man or woman of ur word? etc

and i guess you could say thats a 'motivating factor'. how can you consider urself a 'gangsta' and a 'street nigga' if you have no street credibility , nor do the streets dont know or respect you?
