Anyone know anything about the business. I know you represent athletes and all but does anyone know anything about it in depth? I dont know because I was thinking about getting into the real estate business but since the market is fucked up I was wondering how easy being a sports agent is. I was comparing the two and they seem to be alike but as a sports agent you have to have personal relations with your client. As a real estate salesperson, once the deal closes, you dont have to contact that person as much, unless you want continual business and referrals.

Well, as an agent, you're gonna want to constantly get the dude some extra money. Get him some endorsements and shit.

Jerry McGuire will answer all your questions about being a sports agent. LOL.

teams & players will not wanna fuck with an inexperienced agent
Well you gotta start somewhere right? Its not like the best agents out there started and all of a sudden got Lebron James as there agent. I know you gotta have a rep and all but to get to the top, u gotta start from the bottom. I also heard once you get a license and all, you can get mentored at a Sports Agency. They teach you the ropes and once you learn everything its all about mouthpiece.

I'd bet the only way to get into that industry was if you know someone in the industry or someone who's about to be a sports star

most agents are lawyers...my dad is a sports agent but he does more of the talkin to players and talent side his partner handles all the legal shit...basically what u do is get the player meetings r try outs with teams they sign a contract and u get like 1-5 % of everthing they make...just to let u kno there is a big market for agents in overseas sports mainly basketball...they only make like $300,000 playin in like china or sumthin but if u got like 15-20 clients thats major bread...also u need to kno alot about the sport ur getting into not only how the game is played but the business side of that sport too...also watch arlis on hbo
