Killa Season should've sold more, but he gets no radio play, barely any video play, and the only promotion his album got was MTV commercials days before the release. Good numbers for such a lack of promotion.

KILLA !

congrats to 40 for making it half way to gold!

cam's gunna out sell 40 with a fraction of the promo and radio/video play
you got something against 40 and his album sales? everytime someone posts soundscans you say something about 40s sales, seems like you want to see him do low #s.......your right dude is half way to gold, without a second single being released and tell me when to go still getting rotations and spins. I believe Cham was in the same boat till ridin dirty hit, now look.......and your probably right about CAM, but how long has cam been in the mainstream? dude doesnt really need promo, hes one of the top main artists in NY....get the hate out your system

yea, cam sold over 100k, but imagine how many people bootlegged that shit. NY is the capital of bootleggin, i will bet the dips have most of their exposure from bootlegging cuz of the amount of mixtapes and shit they release....i would bet he would be platinum already if u count how many people downloaded killa season (that would mean the album was downloaded 900k times).....but that could go for most mainstream artists, even e40....

i got plenty against 40 and his album sales. they should be higher TBINB. his lead single pretty much sucks and there isn't another single worthy track on the album. it was a shabby rush job by a proven to be dope artist. where is all this bay/cali love? The state alone is the 6th largest economy in the world and he can't even push gold? where are all these loyal hyphy supporters? where are the loyal "The Bay Is Back" people? with all the pay for play he's got his album should have pushed waaaay more units. Every time number get posted i point it out to show TBINB. I wish it was but it won't be and i wish it was as good as it used to be, but it never will be.

Cam needs promo just like everyone else his album should have been certified gold already (40's should have been too even though it's sub par).

i believe that bootleggers run the country now. it sucks too. but i guess if the artist don't make music that the consumer likes, then they won't buy it, but rather just download it. mostly those are the one's that are stuck in the mid 90's and cant and/or dont want to move on and dont believe in changes in music

Yeah thats true. Look at places like Houston, where artists can almost go gold just from local support. Also look at Too $hort back in the day, he had no radio play no videos and always went gold just from having a loyal fan base. People need to learn that you dont have to follow trends and cross over to a mainstream audience to sell units...

^i believe that there is a big difference from now and then. because in those old Too Short days, there wasn't a "internet" to download full albums from, instead people had to buy it to hear it. and it was some quality sounds. now, its all different from that.

i understand what your saying, i just think its too early to judge if this album flopped in "industry standards".....in bay area terms, shit is platinum, cuz i dont remember anyone even selling close to 100 K in recent years...but in the industry, i agree it at least needs to hit gold.......i think it will once u and dat booty drops, cuz not only is it the club song that all the females will be jamming to, its a slapper as well........i think the album was solid, not the greatest but i didnt think it was as bad as your making it out to be......i just think it still needs time

^^^ that's valid and i'm willing to give it time, but honestly i really don't see this album with any sort of resurgence. it’s possible though, I mean it’s not like he’s doing horrible sales, there is still a good trickle of intrest in the album from the numbers (plus we all know soundscan numbers lie anyway, they don’t even count mom & pop)

music downloads hurt numbers that I’ll agree too, but also look at the extreamly popular selling artists recently, they obviously have more of their albums downloaded than 40, but they still move bigger numbers. And 40’s company has quite the promotional swing going for this album with all the radio play, video time, interviews, etc so it should be selling more with all that behind it.

I’ve been a 40 fan since I can’t remember when and I would have been more than happy to have paid for this album, but THANKFULLY I downloaded it first, found out it sucked, and didn’t waste any money. And I wish he was getting national attention off of some more quality work (like he’s been known to do in the past).

P.S. I am thinking about buying KILLA Season though, especially if it comes with some kinda DVD extras or something. The album is growing on me and I already liked it to begin with.

P.S.S. As much as i think 40's album was a sub par effort i'd still rather listen to it than the Gnarls Barkley crap fest.
