I really don't know what to do for my girl... flowers and dinner without a doubt, but I'm hearing all this talk about a promise ring :ermm: is that even a good idea. My girl doesn't rock jewelry so I don't know, maybe get her a chain to rock the ring on.

Materialistically what are some good ideas and what have you done in the past?

.. how long you been with your girl...? if this is your first Vday with her then a definite no on the promise ring IMO.. have y'all discussed what the 'promise' means....? if its a promise of marriage or engagement then thats on you to decide.. is it a promise of loyalty and monogamy..? my first promise ring (first two actually.. ) were promises of loyalty and monogamy... one I still have and one got thrown out a moving vehicle at a high rate of speed.... lol..

If its time to step it up from the cute teddy bear and box of chocolate then maybe take a trip outta town for the week-end... go somewhere the two of you have never been... or go back to a special place that will show her you remember what it was like when the two of you first met.. take pictures (this is KEY) .. but if its a material gift you seek.. a bracelet would be less of a commitment than the ring.. or you can get her a charm necklace .. then you know what to get her for Easter, your Anniversary (of being together), Christmas, her bday, etc.. a new charm for the necklace .. there are lame charm necklaces/bracelets and designer ones.. if you've got the bread try Juicy or Tiffany...

this wasnt a vday trick, but

i once bought flowers a day ahead and kept them fresh because basically i was with her that whole next day and i didnt go anywhere without her, waited till nighttime that next day when we were gonna go out to eat at night and put them in the back of my car while she was gettin ready cuz u know women get ready longer most times, now obviously being that it was dark she wasnt gonna look in the back of my car and would be sitting in the front...so we ate and everything and talked and you know its custom to open a womans door so i opened her door and turned around with the flowers and she was caught hella offguard like whaaa? where the fuck did you get flowers from? to this day shes still tryna figure that shit out

I'm still trying to figure out what to do as far as going out too... I decided to go with a Tiffany's necklace with an engraving. I can't bring myself to getting a ring, maybe I will last minute, I'm not scared of commitment but its just not her style.

I might do a hotel for a night with her but it all depends on how I feel. Want things to be special but it shouldn't mean my pocket book burns a hole.
