No, the draft does not exist (yet), what you are probably talking about is selective service. You can do this at the DMV (personally I would probably try to get by without doing it.)

my job blocks the site so i can't copy paste you the info, but if you go to

www.objector.org/

they have steps about how to start putting on record that you want conscientious objector status, in the event that selective service went into effect, so you would have a documented history to back up your claim.

"If you're male and a U.S. citizen, you're legally required to register with the Selective Service System, within thirty days before or twenty-nine days after your 18th birthday. "

If you dont sign up for the selective service, BEWARE. After your 30 days are up, the fbi puts your name in a database connected to local and statewide crime databases across the US. They also use the IRS and DMV information to find out your phone number and where you live. Most phone companies will also cooperate if they are called and give up you telephone/cell phone records. Then the fbi knows all about you. I have seen them team up with the local methanphedimine unit when I was living in Pacifica and take away brothers, sisters, even extended family members. All I could do is sit in my trailor and say fuck the feds. My boy Cledis told me they took him to a secret facility in Angel Island but only because he was a US citizen. His half-brother Shamus, a spud fresh off the boat from Ireland was detained in a federal penitentary for 6 years because he wouldnt sign away his freedom. Damn Irish! I envy them.

Long story short. Send in your selective service papers before it is too late.
