serious question came to mind in regards to illegal mixtapes and distribution/online

so ok like on myspace they have 3rd party companies that allow you to put songs on your myspace page and sell them for a certain amount of cents / im guessing the money generated from that goes into your paypal account....


all fine and dandy...now whats to happen to those thats doing it and are rap'n or sing'n over mainstream artist beats?

im starting to see this lil trend all over myspace...not sayin that they really brining in hella dough or are they?

whats yal thoughts on this?

yeah if you see big name artists like Yuk n shit sellin there mixtapes in stores and shit and usin that on myspace im pretty sure they got the beats cleared and paid royalties for em otherwise they wouldnt be sellin em....

we've made sales from it, but we purposly DO NOT put mixtape tracks on there. matter of fact, the agreement when you sign up says that you'll agree that all work is legal & original.

to those that dont? do u think its a greater risk or is it equal to the same punishment that u would get from saling it as in a store?

they can & will get sued if they make enough money off it, but most cases they won't....usually just get a cease & desist order

i kno the lil tricks of the trade.but this way on myspace seemed more of a huge risk to me...

cuz not only u gettin paid for it,but it tracks how many sells you made and its avaible to the public
