Say like, if Tech N9ne started rappin on them south beats, changin his flow up to some boring ass shit and every song was about bling, cars, hoes, and slangin dope....that would be sellin out.

how did game sell out? he wasn't underground to begin with... to me selling out would be a hard, well known artist like yukmouth signing with a label like g-unit or some shit like that.

most Southern rappers didn't change shit when they went mainstream so I wouldn't consider them sell-outs (Chamillionaire, Paul Wall, etc.)

some obvious cases:

Snoop after No Limit Top Dogg
Jay-Z after 1997
Three 6 Mafia after 2001
Eightball & MJG
E-40
Mobb Deep
Fat Joe
Twista
and a lot more

basically everybody that switched their style to a softer more appealing to the masses sound at some point in their career

if you're claiming you're the ambassador of the Hyphy movement and your album has only 4 or 5 hyphy tracks and the rest is southern and pop/R&B crossover attempts to satisfy the general listener, that's nothing else but selling out

i think alot of yall got many things mixed up between selling out and getting with the program. I wouldnt consider signing to G-Unit as selling out.

Would u rather be broke, "rapping about havin the money"?

Or havin the money,"rappin about spending it"

Thats all rappers rap about anyway. Maybe not all but Most. Mainstream or not.

Now, i'm sure there are rapppers out there that rap for free and are not too worried about the money. Yeah Right.
