For those of us who are fans of the 2nd most accomplished team in the NFC out of 16 since the year 2003 (I put the Giants above us for their accomplishment this past season).

I point this out b/c NEVER EVER take this stuff for granted. The playoff streak will come to an end at some point. Here's to hoping it's around 2015, but it could be this year, who knows. Continue to enjoy the ride.

As for the offseason and training camp, for me this is really the 1st year since this run started where the clear story line in Training Camp is the offense and not the defense.

Niner fans, I will do another thread this year tracking all of your statements, dating them, and checking for accuracy as the year goes on. So be careful, I know that you WANT the Niners to win the NFC West but do you really think that they will? Unlike last year, you guys don't have that infallible predictor of automatic success that is the results of 2 games out of 16 (you all got a little carried away w/ what the ramifications of the 06 sweep of the Seahawks would have).

Final point, ESPN just ranked this year for Seattle as the 4th worst sports season for a city of ALL-TIME. It has never been this bad in my lifetime, just putting even more pressure on the Hawks, b/c they're all we got.

Game roll call: How many of you all are season ticket holders? How many go to individual games a few times a year?

B/C I've lived in Seattle for football season only once out of the last 7 years, I am no longer a season ticket holder like I was in HS. But I'll be at 1 regular season game in Seattle for sure 12/21 vs the Jets. I'm hoping to make it to one more in Seattle, maybe 9/14 vs the Niners (I could come home that weekend for the Oklahoma game as well). And then knock on wood, I will be attending 2 playoff home games.

And here's the one I'm real excited about. I will be in a Texas Stadium luxury box on Thanksgiving Day for a showdown between the Seahawks and Cowboys.

About 6 months ago I did a study on which cities had the most successful sports legacies and which didn't, basically by just doing some simple math.

Sports suffering city #1 = Cleveland
Sports suffering city #2 = Seattle
Sports suffering city #3 = Philadelphia

We aren't at the very top of the list, but we're close, very close.

Things have been so bad this year and life/sports in general is so strange, you never know what's coming, that maybe the Hawks just blow all of this disappointment up and go and win the Super Bowl in Holmgren's last year....You never know...

I try to make at least a few games per year. Chicago, Green Bay and Patriots are the games I'd like to go to this year.

Anyone else excited about Jones/Duckett? I think it's a huge improvement over last years sorry run game. The Defense I think will be the hawks strong point (sounds crazy saying that after all these years!).

On a side note I got a $100 bet that Seattle will win 10 games or more with a friend. So that's my expectation for this season. I think they are a better team then last year and there is no reason why they cant make the playoffs again this year

I go to maybe one game a year. I am one of the feew people that would rather watch the game on TV than go see it live. On TV, I have the PERFECT angle, I have replay, i dont have annoying ass idiots screaming in my ear, beer isnt $10, food is whatever I chose, if its cold, i can turn on my heat, etc.

Going to games arent all they are cracked up to be.

idk, something about that atmosphere is tight to me. Yes, it's expensive, but I prefer to be one of those drunken idiots screaming and yelling. Usually pre-funk at the beer garden down the street at the brewery.

Against San Diego, I sat front row right behind SD. I was talkin so much shit to them, I had their kicker crackin up too, they could all hear us we were so close. It was dope.

Against the Redskins in the playoffs, got kicked out with like 10 seconds left in the game. lol, again it was dope.

Somethin about how loud that stadium gets too, it's unreal. You really appreciate it too if you go to another stadium. When its a close game, being there everyone yellin, causin false starts, etc. that shit is cool to me

I respect both points of view, but mine in particular is more in line w/ 2-0-Sixx's. He could not be more dead on when it comes to the crowd noise, that place is just ridiculous. It is probably the best home field advantage in American professional sports judging by 1) home winning % (relative to our talent level, b/c the Colts and Pats are on par w/ us in this stat but clearly have been more talented) 2) judging by the crowd noise factor, which is the loudest in American professional sports, and 3) the result of #2, the false start lead. Qwest is amazing. Give me some nasty weather and a meaningful football game and there's no place on earth I'd rather be than Qwest. Nothing feels like winter in Seattle like 37 degrees & raining w/ Matt Hasselbeck throwing touchdown passes.

^ I admit my strong desire to go to the games is possibly rooted in me being out of town for 6 of the last 7 football seasons. So I can and do watch them on TV wherever I am, but going to them is something I can only do when home. So Qwest is synonimous w/ being home for me, might be some psychological things at play, but regardless, the place is simply a ridiculous place to watch a football game.

LOL we did the same thing to Neil Rackers for Arizona in 2004. We were all over him practicing in his little net, and he had a real bad day on that particular game, so we felt pretty proud of ourselves. Suffice to say, he's turned into a pretty damn good kicker and beat us last year, so he got the last laugh over those idiot Seahawk fans harassing him a few years ago.

C'mon man you don't want to do THAT? Didn't you want to savor the victory??? What were you doing that got you kicked out?

I'm a big intensity guy, but personally I don't mix alcohol and football b/c I've got to see every little detail in the game and know exactly what's going on, and being drunk, you lose your sharpness. That's just me though.

Dead on. I've been to Soldier Field, the Transworld Dome in STL, the Metrodome in STL, and soon to be Texas Stadium in Dallas. None compare to Qwest, not even the Metrodome which is supposed to be the one to rival Qwest in crowd noise b/c it's indoors. But it didn't come close. I do need to visit Arrowhead at some point though.

it's Seattle's 12th man. they were even loud in the Kingdome.

"Seattle fans had such an impact on the success of the team in the 1980’s that Seahawks President Mike McCormack retired the number 12 on December 15, 1984.

Throughout the 1980’s Seattle’s fans became known as the loudest in the NFL, so much so that the league instituted a noise rule in 1985. Despite the rule, the 12th MAN continued the tradition, giving the Seahawks a home field advantage to this day."

I would love to be at the scrimmage if I was in town.

I'm going to be at the 9/14 game vs SF (and also the 9/13 game vs Oklahoma at Husky Stadium), coming back for a weekend in September it's going to be awesome.

I would also love to be a season ticket holder one day. If I ever come back for good, it'll be as a Hawks season ticket holder for sure.

Asshole! That's my birthday. I should be there.

Glad y'all got rid of Alexander, and more happy you guys picked up J. Jones. Haha! Can't wait for this season to start.

Seahawks Scrimmage Update

nothing too exciting, except just being in the environment of qwest field and ready for another football season. justin forsett looked nice at tailback, gettin numerous reps and busting an approximately 40 yard run with some nice cutbacks. jordan kent caught a nice deep pass along the southwest sideline for a near touchdown. charlie frye got most of the reps at qb during the scrimmage with seneca getting a decent amount and hasselbeck going only one possession i believe. play of the day i thought was michael bumpus' touchdown after a great catch under heavy pressure to make it into the endzone after the catch near the 5 yard line. many notables didnt play because of either recent surgery, injury, or precaution such as deion branch, marcus tubbs, patrick kerney, lofa tatupu, walter jones, etc. good to see some local names on the team both new and old also (CJ Wallace - UW, Omare Lowe - Tahoma High and UW, Larry Triplett - UW, Michael Bumpus - WSU)

Looked good last night. Obviously not going to dwell on the score b/c that's just meaningless in pre-season, but I will say that I saw two things that made me very happy, two minor but in my opinion, very significant things :

01) On the first drive near the end of it (either the TD or the completed pass directly before the TD, I'll check when I rewatch it on DVR today) there was a gaping hole in the middle of the OLine and a blitzing linebacker moving very quickly, and Julius Jones stepped up and cracked him low, completely chopping him down, buying Matt that extra 2-3 seconds and he completed the pass. That simply doesn't happen last year w/ Shaun back there.

02) Another drive early in the game, they ran a sweep to the left side and Mike Wahle got out there in space, moving real well for a big man, and cleared some space for a solid 7 or 8 yard run. He moves better than I thought he would. Another thing I don't know if I saw more than 2 or 3 times this year.
