Really too lazy to explain the whole shit right now, but ask anyone that's in the musicbiz and they will tell you why they ussually start promoting an album and put out the video weeks ( sometimes even months) before the album drops...

also look what ive done for them was put out before the cd dropped and ppl loved that.......so why wouldnt it work after it came out............

both of u dukes got good points but I think he right in saying the promotion should start atleast a month before the release of the album to get people hyped up for the release.

AS FAR AS THE VIDEO SHIT GOES:
its alot different putting out a video on an indepedent: of course u wanna have your video come out a month before your album drops but it doesn't always work that way. when u have a song that picks up and starts drawing a lot of attention and getting a lot of spins then u r forced to do a video after your album drops. as a label your goal is to get the first week sales up as high as possible. then u look at the 2nd push and other strategies to boost sales. so to answer the question if there was one, yes its better to have a video before the album but its not bad to have one after to boost sales.
