rompalation 2 - why so echoey???

why are alot of the songs on rompalation 2 so echoey??? just bad mastering? or were they trying to make it like that on purpose??

i think they did it like that on purpose. it sounds tight to me. that's what i always remembered about that album is that they had that crazy effect on it. classic knock. the committee is one of my favorites.
