i got a bad feeling about this fucker

The Oakland Raiders agreed to hire Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as their next coach, league sources said Tuesday night.

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported earlier Tuesday that the Raiders were close to finalizing a deal with Allen, who now becomes the NFL's youngest head coach at 39 years and 124 days old.
Dejection in Denver
Pro Bowl CB Champ Bailey admitted he was being selfish, but he wasn't too happy to hear Dennis Allen was leaving the Broncos to coach the Raiders. More...

New Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, who's at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., told Comcast SportsNet Bay Area earlier in the day that he had scheduled a Tuesday night interview with Allen but hadn't yet made a final decision.

Allen will be the first defensive-oriented Raiders coach since John Madden was hired before the 1969 season. Oakland likely wanted a defensive mind after ranking 29th in total defense this season.

In his first season as coordinator in Denver, Allen helped the Broncos improve from allowing an NFL-worst 29.4 points and 390.8 yards per game to rank 20th in yards (357.8) and 24th in points (24.4) this season on the way to an AFC West title.

The Broncos increased their sacks total from 23 to 41 as they were tied for the sixth-most blitzes on pass plays in the league this season, according to STATS LLC.

Allen was the New Orleans Saints' secondary coach (2008-10) and assistant defensive line coach (2006-07) for five seasons, and he also served on the Atlanta Falcons' staff as a defensive assistant. He runs a 4-3 scheme, which the Raiders have used for seven seasons.

Oakland needed a coach after firing Hue Jackson following one 8-8 season.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

We'll see what happens... this coach isn't going to go for McClain's half steppin' and Routt's face guarding.

lets see who he hires as his staff. Hire Hue as the OC, lol. Really though, they must see something in him to give him a shot at HC. Hopefully he can manage more than 8 wins this next season. Im tiered of new coach set backs.

I hope we see some action. People getting traded, picking up picks and all kinds of shit. I don't care anymore. It's the offseason and I want some Raider news. Let's get this team right for the future, not the now.

Carson Palmer doesn't fit the bill..
are you sure about that? did you see how many yards he threw for in about half a season. he had to get adjusted to our wrs and learn al saunders 500 page playbook in 2 weeks. and still did good. at times he did pull of some bullshit il admit but after training camphes gona be a BEAST

Interesting choice, but I'm all for it. Hopefully we get a good DC that works well with him and a play calling OC

And Marshawn Lynch!

we shall see if he lives up to his contract, i'm thinking he'll be gone in about 2 years. I don't see why you folks think he established a solid defense, it wasn't very strong if you ask me being 24th in the league and in conclusion the defenses he was correlated with in New Orleans and Atlanta were at the bottom of the barrel.

actually when we traded for palmer we changed the playbook to plays he knew. so everyone else had to learn the playbook and he still did a shitty job imo

Broncos hire Jack Del Rio as defensive coordinator

but it this way, Im sad to see him go. ESP to the Faid
would you rather have Allen or Del Rio as the broncos DC.

DENVER – John Fox and Jack Del Rio are together again.

The Denver Broncos announced Friday night they had agreed to terms with Del Rio to become the club's new defensive coordinator.

Del Rio was Fox's first defensive coordinator in Carolina in 2002 before leaving after one year to coach the Jacksonville Jaguars, who fired him in November.

Del Rio replaces Dennis Allen, who left after one year in Denver to coach the Oakland Raiders.

Del Rio is the Broncos' seventh defensive coordinator in seven seasons. Other men who have filled the Mile High musical chair in the last six seasons are Larry Coyer (2006), Jim Bates (2007), Bob Slowik (2008), Mike Nolan (2009) and Don Martindale (2010). Allen was the only one who left for a head coaching job.

"We are thrilled to be able to add such a well-respected defensive coach to our staff," Fox said in a statement issued through the team's Twitter account.

"He was an integral part of our turnaround on defense during my first year with the Panthers in 2002," Fox added. "His defenses with the Jaguars have ranked among the NFL's best, and we are excited he's a Bronco."

The Broncos also hired Luke Richesson as their head strength and conditioning coach. Richesson spent the last three seasons with the Jaguars.
