3 held in connection with deadly brawl
Three people were in custody and being questioned by investigators Saturday after an early-morning brawl that left one man dead and a woman with serious injuries, authorities said.
The brawl occurred outside a Safeway at 525 El Camino Real. The name of the dead man was not released.
Police say they were called simultaneously at 6:45 a.m. to two separate locations. In the 500 block of Broadway in the downtown business district, authorities found a woman with blunt trauma injuries to her head. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where she was in critical condition, authorities said.
A few blocks from Broadway, at the Millbrae Avenue overpass at Highway 101, police found a man with stab wounds to his chest. He was pronounced dead at S.F. General.
