Q&A's
---------
•What is your name, what do you go by?
I go by "Abom Kid"; originally "T.A.K." -an acronym for "Tacoma's Abominable Kid"
I shortened it to be more distinguishable.

•Where in the puget sound do you reside?
As of right right now, Tumwater -just outside of Olympia

•Are there any famous people you can identify yourself with?
Hmm.... I've never been asked this question before; nor thought about it. If I had to pick someone in the hip-hop scenario, I would say closely similar to Tech N9ne. Not style-wise with lyrics and delivery, but how open-minded and consistent he is. I don't think you can pin a finger on me for a certain style. I'm aggressive, but at the same time, can make a smooth and inspirational sounding track.

•Who or what is your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration right now is all this local talent I'm surrounded by. I don't listen to mainstream anymore because I feel it is extremely watered-down. I love what everybody around me is doing; they all push me to work harder and broaden my horizons.

•What cds, mixtapes, mp3s are you currently playing in your playlist?
Instrumentals; I will listen to instrumentals all day. I'm constantly looking for that "perfect" beat for my next track. Other than that, I listen to my own tracks -- only to critique myself and see what I need to improve on.
Some local CDs I am currently bumping are Shoa Sosa, Mike "G", Awall, Josh Rizeberg, Neema, Gonzo Family, and Blue Nose Music, along with many more...

•Where did you live growing up?
I was born and raised in Tacoma, growing up between 84th-56th and McKinley, 38th and Thompson (next to Lincoln Park), and have bounced around everywhere from Spanaway, Hilltop, Southend, Northend, University Place, etc.

•When do you find time to work on music?
Any free moment I have to spare; on the bus, walking, in the gym, on break at work, etc. My room IS my studio, so I usually work on projects before going to sleep.

•Why did you submit this particular track to the Puget Sound Mixtape?
Its a different turn away from the local hip-hop scene, I think. It has the rock-feel, mixed with inspiration and sadness, touched up with my rap and delivery. Based on my own experiences and troubles I have gone through with addiction to drugs/alcohol.

•Do you have any shout-outs you want to give out?
There is so many people I want to give a shoutout to, but I wouldn't know where to begin..... I want to thank EVERYBODY that I have worked with and the ones I will work with in the future. All of my fans and supporters, and you for accepting my submission and requesting this interview.

Q&A's
---------
Q&A's

Q: What is your name, what do you go by?

A: DeRoxs (Pronounced as D-Rocks) "The Crown Prince of the 206"

Q: Where in the puget sound do you reside?

A: Seattle, Wa. (The 206)

Q: Did you ever listen to any type of music growing up?

A: Oh yeah. My house hold was full of music growing up. Mom's had me listening to Parliament, Zapp, The Gap Band, Earth Wind & Fire, Rick James, Michael Jackson. My Aunt introduced me to Prince as well as Rapper's Delight & Kurtis Blow. Some Occasional Blow Fly. (I had to sneak to to listen to him LOL). But that's how I was introduced to Rap.

Q: How do you think people will be listening to music 10 years from now?

A: Enjoying it. And comparing it to what is out at that time. Saying that it is still relevant. They do that now. I play people music I did back in 2000-2002 & they think I just made it yesterday.

Q: What role does the local weather play on your music?

A: Some, the Rain is beautiful & allows me to get into the zone. Doesn't matter if I am Writing, Recording, or Performing. I make that Rainy Weather Music. (Not Depressing though. LOL)

Q: Where can we catch a live show?

A: This New Years Eve I will Be Performing live @ Hayleys in Everett. A long with other Members of my Wolfpakk Brotherhood: Cash Gordon, Silver Shadow D, Shigg the Rhythm Speaker, UN the Rhyme Hustler. Also performing will be the Band Caffeine featuring Joyshandra Jackson. It's gonna be a GREAT Show!

Q: Do you think the northwest style sounds like typical west coast music?

A: No, not at all. I think we have our own Sound & Style. I call it NW-HipHop or 206 Hip-Hop. No disrespect to the West Coast. But I think when you say West Coast, people tend to think Cali. But from Vancouver B.C. to Seattle to Portland, the Sound is Uniquely different.

Q: Why did you submit this particular track to the Puget Sound Mixtape?

A: Born & Raised is the 1st. Single off my new Project titled "Checkmate". It is, in my opinion, a glimpse of the NW sound & DeRoxs music combined. It is also my gift to my city. Plus this is a NW mixtape.... I gotta Rep the Town & the Scene ya dig!

Q: Do you have any shout-outs you want to give out?

A: I want to Shout out The Whole "Fraternal Order of Emcees.... Wolfpakk", My Inspiration & ♡ RP, Sic Ill for putting me on the Mixtape, My Mother RIP Ms. Gail Nettles, & all who support me & my music. For more info on me please Google me or check me out on reverbnation/DeRoxs or on FB: DeRoxs Wolfpakk or "The Crown Prince of the 206" DeRoxs - The Fan Page! Thank You All!

What is your name, what do you go by?
My government name is Tim, and I go by a couple different names. The one I use most is probably chumpchange1, and believe me I know how retarded it is. I also go by Cody Buckets.

Where in the puget sound do you reside?
I reside in our great state capital the city of Olympia.

Are there any local artists (music or non-music) that you check on?
There's not many local artists I check on, I haven't been keeping my ear to the streets like I used to. I do still check on Larry mizzells column in the stranger weekly though.

Describe your music in one word?
Describing my music in one word I guess I'd have to say half-assed. I guess that's two words though.

What usually happens after an instrumental is completed?
I've never really finished an instrumental track that I've been 100% satisfied with so I don't really know what happens yet.

Would you rather make money with your music or give it away for free?
I would rather make money off my music but I don't really feel that's an option yet, so I'm happy to give my shit away for free an just get any kind of exposure that I can.

Do you think beatmakers dont get recognized as much as singers, rappers?
I think there's some big name beatmakers out there, obviously not as many as there are rappers but they can get recognized.

Why did you submit this particular track to the Puget Sound Mixtape?
The reason I submitted this track is because I really like the sample. It reminds me of some old Wu-tang shit.

Do you have any shout-outs you want to give out?
I'd like to give my wife a big shout out, she's always been really supportive of my music. Also everyone over at pugetsoundmixtape.com for putting me on. Thank you again.
