sooner then later i will be upgrading my studio, i will be getting a few odds and ends, upgrading mic and mixer and getting a new module ive had my little heart set on and a few expansion roms for my triton rack....
but my question is that i will have about 1200-1400 left over and i really dont know what to get module or keyboard wise, by the time i get there i will have as follows"
triton rack with vintage keys, trance attack, and orchestral exp
emu proteus 2500 with 2 expansion roms
nord lead 2
korg ms-2000
korg poly 800 mk1

i want to stay away from emu cuz i will be getting the proteus, i thought about getting a motif but i dont know what the purpose of having 2 workstations would be, i would just like some ideas, and pros and cons on what to get, like why it would be good to have a triton and a motif, or any other peice....thanks in advance.

I would pick up a Motif-Rack or Roland XV-5080. You really should hit up your local Guitar Center (or whatever) and just listen to some gear so you can hear for yourself what kind of sounds this stuff has. I trust my own ears far more than anyones opinion but if you want suggestions, look into that Motif-Rack and the 5080.

well, i'd definately pick up a midi-controller(studio logic makes a weighted 88 key)
then go withs omething like the XV-5080

i know one thing...i got a boy who does real solid production, and he says his Korg Triton sucks compared to his Mo Phat command station from E-Mu...i think it's called the mp-7 command station...you can get one for around 500 or less on ebay

I'd invest in one of those E-Mu Rack Samplers. Like an E6400 Ultra or an E4 Platinum. Once you get one, it'll take a while to get used to it since you'll have to be loading your sounds most of the time but the actual sounds that are available for these big samplers are ridiculous (in a good way). I just got one and I'm lovin it.

Yea, exactly. The quality of the sounds (in my opinion anyway) is of a higher quality than the sounds on these workstation keyboards and sound modules. Go to Guitar Center and make em let you test one. I say make them because they hate fuckin wit these cause they gotta go find a sample CD for you to test and those bastards are lazy.

I've messed around with alot of shit and listened to alot of demos and shit.

Motif has tighter sounds than the Triton but Triton is sic too.
Nord Electro keyboard has some real tight original patches on it too.

For Mods Nord had some nice ones but they are hella expensive
the EMU Proteus 1000 is real tight and is only like 400 bucks right now. Rolands XV 5050 has some real tight shit for its price of about 800$ too.
