i have dsl and i have a wireless connection with the access point in the other room. sometimes the internet jus stops work, im wondering why it does this? when the internet stopps working my winamp starts to slowdown n crackle i was also wondering why this happens? do i need to fuck with the settings on my computer or what?

Have U tried clearing your temporary internet files? Also, if u have moved files around or have been downloading latley, analyze your hard drive and see if it needs to be defragmented. I had the same problem right b4 my computers power supply blew up, but you said its a new computer so I doubt it's that. You may also need to check microsoft for updates 4 your modems drivers, critical updates, and drivers for anything else that might be out of date. You also mentioned scanning for viruses, but have U scanned for spyware, Adware ,Browser hijackers or keyloggers, just about any of these will slow your computer down. If U don't have a program to scan 4 that shit, here's a couple of links for the one's that I use:

mine does the same thing, wireless internet does not go through walls very well. as long as you are in another room, it probably will periodically disconnect
