It's true but the NBA has really put pressure to "clean up" basketball, sadly. The refs call pussy ass fouls like nothing. Even Larry Bird said on the Mike & Mike show that the players these days are pussies because they eat dinner together or some bullshit.

Money has to do with it as well, since players make so much money nowadays and the owners do not want their "investments" to get injured. Back then in major sports there were hardly any free agents that moved to other teams. Now it's regular to see stars move easily.
