Cesar Chaves was a fucken sav! Mexican people would be no where near where we stand right now! Especially in the Western States. He gave not just Mexican people but other minorities that where working in the fields a voice. Not so much now, but more but back in the day 75% if not more of the community worked in the fields!. I think this deserves to be a natinal holiday. Just like MLK day, Christopher Columbus day and the rest of the holidays. just my opinion though.

Viva Cesar Chavez!

Alot of people with no knowledge dont know that within chavez' struggle their was also chinese an black folks as well he knew it was not just a mexican thing or a mexican problem, people who know real deep rooted cali history would know that back in the days black folks an chinese also picked the fields.
An chavez also prevented many attempts on his life by the fbi an other united states agencies who wanted him dead an it was known from declassified documents that it was called "operation wetback" an that the goverment tried to turn other latino/mexican movements against chavez but he banded together with them an also within his book he stated that he would have never made it alot of times if it was not for the barrios n cholos of northern cali n other areas.
An when u speak on the Huelga bird know what ur talking about.

This thread gots some lightweight ignorance in it. Then again, this is the siccness.

For reals, if you're gonna give someone a day, then why not do it right and give motherfuckers the day off. I hate it when it's a gov't holiday, yet my ass is sittin' at work.

Also, this little march is not about kids not wanting to go to school. It's not even organized by kids, is it? And besides, cats wanna act like school should somehow be imprtant to these kids when it most likely wasn't important for themselves when they were in school.

And lastly, I fucking hate it when "organizers" tack on all these far-fetched non-achievable "demands" to their marches. Then, whoever marches for the original issue is somehow seen as being in support of all the other shit.

Whatever, Im ranting. Lemme get over it and never return to this thread.

He did a lot for farmworkers, most of it has been stated already. I did a 7 page essay on him & found out so much.
Anyone else want to work for 90 cents an hour?
