I've heard alot about North Korea from friends and an ex-girlfriend. The "light at night" picture basically tells the story. Grinding poverty exists en masse, with the most extreme areas even leaving behind stories of cannibalism.

Of course the US has called Kim Jong Il alot of bad names, so expect people here to proclaim him the new Messiah, innocent of all crimes, etc.
