Ya Boy: im from the bay area, northern california
Hero: How did you start rapping?
Ya Boy: i remember in high school, i would be bored in class so i would write raps in class instead of doin my school work, i dont encourage this but it worked out in my situation, thats how i started, then i got put on with done deal ent. in the bay, my name started buzzin locally then i went to la an started workin wit the game an blackwallstreet, name started buzzin nationally so i created my own imprint precise music group and here i am today
Hero: Did Phat Rat really front you a mill to jump start your music career?
Ya Boy: phat rat put a mill into precise music group which we probably spent that first year takin trips recording an poppin bottles from la to ny to hawaii
Hero: I'm sure you get this all the time,but whats you're affiliation with The Game?
I've heard you're signed to BWS then you arent,then you guys are beefing..etc
Ya Boy: game put me on to get my name buzzin nationally, im not signed to him, but he is my big homie 4 life. no beef, i dont believe in rapper beef. thats corny.
Hero: I loved Optimus Rime,probably my favorite mixtape from you,but i was curious
as to why you released Im About To Murdah This Shit so close to the last mixtape
and with alot less promotion.
Ya Boy: alot less promotion and it had a bigger impact than optimus rime, i dont really need to promote my mixtapes the fan base is already there, i try to give the streets a mixtape as often as possible until my album gets ready
Hero: So what's up with Ya Boy and the mainstream? It's no secret you are a hitmaker
and can get a party poppin,any labels trying to holla at Ya Boy?
Ya Boy: yea a few, tryna stay quiet about em till its finalized tho. but its soon to happen and its been a long hard road thats about to pay off BIG TIME.
Hero: I peeped all of you're kush TV series,what is your affiliation with Philly?
Do you fuck with Gillie? or is Cysserro the dude you fuck with out there?
Ya Boy: my brother from another mother philly rich is from philly he took me to his hood in philly an it felt like home i fucks wit philly heavy, its alot of talent an real stories to be told out there
Hero: You did a track with John Brown awhile back,whats the story behind that?
Ya Boy: he asked me to put a verse on 1 of his songs and i did it. his producer is a friend of mine
Hero: Just out of curiosity considering im a rapper too,how much does a Ya Boy verse cost?
Ya Boy: around the area of 5 stacks to 7,500
Hero: Is there any rappers or producers you'd like to work with in the future?
Ya Boy: wayne, jay z, jadakiss, kanye, jeezy.
