No one can deny The Figgaro’s consistency when it comes to putting out music to the streets. Is it quality music? Well that’s a different question. His latest offering “QB 2 Compton: Like No Other” pairs the unique team of The Game and Nas together into one album. JT’s newest protégé, The Game, hails from Compton and can be best described as “The West Coast version of Shyne”. Nas needs no explaination. It’s no secret that his tracks contributed to the cd were old or were never released but still gives the album a more East Coast appeal. How does the cd handle?
)“I’m Looking” -This track is off the hook. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the album. Production and lyrics were top notch. I was feelin the chorus the most. 10/10
)“Story Board”- I was sorta disappointed with this song. It didn’t really stand out for me. Just seemed like an average track. 7/10
)“When Shit Get Thick” featuring Sean T. and JT- The beat is on point again for this track. All three spit flames but Sean T. shines the most. One of the top three songs in the album. 10/10
)“Listen to Me” – another disappointing track. 7/10
)“What Type of Nigga” – So far all the Game’s song have been dope. This is no exception. I thought the chorus was funny at first but then I began bobbing my head to it: “Real niggas stand up hold they dick, bitch niggas sit down when they piss. What type of nigga is you?” Hard beat and lyrics blended perfectly with it. 9/10
)“Wanna Play Ruff”- Still disappointed. 7/10
)“All I Know” featuring Young Noble. Dope ass track. Both rappers make a good combination. Sean T. laces another catchy beat. More up-tempo. Noble comes heated. 8/10
)“Sometimes I Wonder”- Above average song. More slow-paced. Nas came dope on the lyrics. 8/10
)“Cali My Home”- He basically gives the Bay and LA props throughout the 2 minute song. Wish it could’ve been longer. 8/10
)“2nd Chance”-useless skit leading up to the next song
)“Among Kings”-Awesome song. Some classic Nasir rhymes and beat. A must bump in your ride. 10/10
)“El Presidente” featuring Telly Mac- Tightest song on the album. Both rappers trade off fire verses. Best Sean T. beat. Flossy type song. 20/10
)“Beginning and End”- Not really feelin this track. 6/10
)“Memph Bleek Iz” – This song needs no explanation. The Game eats Memphis Bleek up on this track. A must hear. Only complaint, he could’ve worked on the chorus more. 9/10
)“Millionaire Pirates” featuring San Quinn, Ive Low, and JT the Bigga Figga- another diss track to Memphis Geek. The track samples Mary J. Blige’s “Family Affair”. All rappers spit heated verses. Another must listen. 9/10
)Bonus Track 1- JT and The Game come through with another dope song. Too bad it’s not very long. 9/10
)Bonus Track 2–Weak Nas song. It wasn’t very good quality either. I heard some cracking while he rapped. 5/10
)Bonus Track 3- Sean T. and The Game contribute another heated song. 8/10
I didn’t know what to expect from this album before listening to it. To be honest, I was only looking forward to the Nas tracks. After one rotation in the car, I was impressed with the Game’s songs. Sorry I can’t say that about the Nas tracks. I highly recommend this album. 8/10 Sean T. best production to date (in my opinion).
