MANILA, Philippines (AP)
His status as a great fighter secure following his latest victory, Manny Pacquiao plans to leave boxing in three years.

Pacquiao, a congressman, spoke in the Philippine House of Representatives on Monday. He received the congressional medal for the second time.

Pacquiao turns 32 next month and was asked at a news conference when he intends to retire.

''Not too long from now,'' he said. ''But I don't want to go beyond 35.''

It's remarkable that pacquiao still has the hunger & desire to continue on after all he's accomplished and being that he has life outside of boxing being a congressman and all, unlike Oscar de la hoya or Floyd who became part time fighters who rarely showed any heart towards then end of their careers.

Floyd's options are literally pacquiao or retire. No one will accept a fight with say a andre berto or someone like that. He would have to do something absurd like go to middleweight and fight sergio martinez or something stupid like that just to make up for ducking pacquiao.

Pacquiao agrees to 14 day blood test cut off
By BEN COHEN

Image via Wikipedia
According to an interview with the Manila Bulletin, Manny Pacquiao will agree to a 14 day cut off point for Olympic style drug testing in order to make a fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Pacquaio was quoted as saying:

“As long as they’re not getting a large amount of blood, I am willing to give out blood as close to two weeks before the fight”

With this concession, it is going to be very hard for Mayweather to maintain credibility should he turn it down. The 14 day cut off point was previously offered to team Pacquiao by Mayweather’s camp, and it has recently transpired that both Mayweather and Mosley were only tested 18 days before their fight on May 1st of this year. Mayweather has a stronger hand in negotiating for this fight given his brilliant performance over Mosley, but should he force the testing issue further, Pacquiao will most likely walk away and fight Antonio Margarito (a fight that few people really want to see).

Stop it, Tony. We all know he agreed to everything Floyd wanted the last time and Floyd decided he didn't want to fight. I know you think he had his reasons, but that's called ducking.
What happened the 1st time, why didn't he agree then? Floyd didn't want "everything", he just wanted to have Pacquiao blood tested as close as to the fight as possible. Shane agreed to "random" testing all the way up until the day of, and it was said that they stopped testing 18 or 19 days before they fought.

Why didn't Pac agree to the 14 day cut off when it was the "only" thing stopping the fight from happening? Then he agreed to do it during the 2 round of negotiations?

Why did Pac change his stance on the blood testing issue? If he wasn't going to agree to the 14 day cut off then he should of stood firm. Now all of a sudden he's agreed to the strict testing demands?

HERSEY specifically said before pacquiao. Shane Mosley was to save face. Fact is never once in floyd's career did he ever demand anyone take any tests, not until pacquiao came into the picture then it was about "cleaning up the sport" LOL.

Seriously, what compels a fighter to even bring this kind of shit up in the first place when there was never any speculation to begin with? It's called fear. Fear in losing. Like his daddy said in the first place, he didn't want floyd in the ring with pacquiao, he was honestly scared for his health, then the roid accusations came and the rest is history. it was a bitch move to get out of a fight, and we know that now being that pac eventually agreed to all the drug tests and floyd went on vacation. so we know, without a doubt that floyd just doesn't want to fight.

blah blah blah just like manny is asking for all the catchweights and the 10 mill for each pound over weight, mayweather is simply asking for a damn blood test. its all mental, their just trying to get into each others head to get that extra advantage. If you want the real answer ask mayweather lol
