my friend just IMed me with this math problem thats supposed to be for 8th graders but we can't figure it out :eyecross:



You have 100 coins totaling $5. You cant use any nickels or quarters. How many of each coins are there

it says you can't use, not don't have.

I think it's one of those trick questions. Either that or you're gonna have to use weird old collectible coins. Can't do it with just dimes and pennys

Using dimes and pennies, it's impossible. The closest you can get is 45 dimes and 55 pennies, but that comes to 5.05.
