MAN CHARGED IN CARJACKINGS: Prosecutors have charged a 26-year-old Antioch man with two armed carjackings in Concord. Mario Delgado is charged with kidnapping, kidnapping for carjacking, two counts of carjacking, one count of first-degree robbery, three counts of second-degree robbery, receiving stolen property and car theft.
Delgado, a rapper known as Mars, pleaded not guilty in Contra Costa Superior Court last week.
Concord police said Delgado threatened a man June 25 in the parking lot of a Longs Drugs store in the 2600 block of Clayton Road in Concord. He forced the man to drive to the Concord BART station, where he robbed the man and drove away in his car.
Prosecutor Paul Graves said Delgado also carjacked another victim June 25 in Concord.
Delgado, who has appeared on an album cover wearing a Hannibal Lecter-like mask, is set to appear Aug. 24 in Superior Court in Martinez.
