Lane County man accused of abuse of corpse

A Lane County man was arrested this morning after a grand jury indicted him on one count of second-degree abuse of a corpse.
Lt. Randy Smith of the Lane County Sheriff's Office said 47-year-old John D. Dawson was arrested without incident at his home in Marcola and booked into the Lane County Jail.
Smith said the partially decomposed body of 45-year-old Judy N. Hernandez was found Feb. 25 on BLM land on McGowan Creek Road.
The state medical examiner ruled the cause and manner of death as undetermined.
