I know theres a lot of haters out there but none of you can deny how well the Lakers have been playing lately...theyre like 9-2 in their last 11 games...name another team that has done as well? yeah the pistons, but thats it...the spurs have lost to the hawks and some other weak team...and its not like the lakers have been playing weak teams themselves...theyve beaten the mavericks twice (one of those times kobe had 62 points in 3 quarters and chose to sit out and not go for the franchise record of 71 which he could have easily gotten)...so anyway your thoughts on how the lakers are gonna finish out the season and what playoff spot theyre gonna get?with the way theyre going now i can see them in the top 4 for sure. maybe even number 2 or 3 if they can get the division lead away from the clippers...

Payton's Digs Anger Odom

Miami Herald - There's trash talk, and then there's Gary Payton's talk.
Sunday, Payton was at his best -- or worst, depending on your perspective. The target of his verbal jabs was former Heat forward Lamar Odom. And Odom didn't take well to Payton's chatter.
Payton received a technical foul in the third quarter for his wrangling with Odom, after which Odom winked toward his bench as if he had the situation under control.
But the back-and-forth banter continued for the remainder of the game, to the point where the two had to be separated at midcourt after the game was over. Odom said Payton crossed the line of good sportsmanship with some of his comments.
''He's an extremely disrespectful young man,'' Odom said. ``I'm not going to repeat anything he said, but he's extremely disrespectful.
``It's dudes like that, that's why things happen off the court between players and their friends and things like that. He needs to watch how he talks to other men. It's a difference between competing and how you talk to another man.''
Payton said he was just doing what he normally does, trying to get into the minds of his competition.
''You just keep talking and keep playing,'' Payton said. ``Some of the players, their mentality is they want to get mad and take it personal against you, then they start thinking about you all the time. That's where my mental toughness is, because I don't care. I can talk, and I'm not going to worry about you anymore.''

i don't know if anyone was watching the game closely, but to me it looked like DWade was trying to shave some points ???!? lol........the spread was Heat -6, and it was hovering around that the final minutes........one play DWade throws up a crappy layup, then another time down, throws a behind the back pass to the Lakers, then gets his shot blocked. and the clincher was when the Heat were up by 2 or 3, i forgot, Dwade gets fouled and misses the first off the back rim, then calmly makes the 2nd, so to make sure the Heat don't cover, lol..........that's my theory !!! and i didn't even bet on that game !!! dkjf;aldfjio;aefaed
