Kreayshawn is gearing up for the release of her Sony Music debut.

Kreayshawn has announced the title for her debut album, which she recently finished recording.

The "Gucci Gucci" rapstress took to Twitter last night to reveal that the LP will be titled "Somethin' Bout Kreay". While she did not say when the album will release, she confirmed that she has finished recording the project, which will be released via Sony Music.

The Bay Area native previously said that her debut will have "everything." It is set to feature production from Boyz Noize and Jean Baptiste, as well as several guest appearances from her White Girl Mob partner V-Nasty.

“A lot of it is like different genres and forces, from Brazilian-type music to Indian freestyle to techno-type music," she said. "There’s everything."

IMO, this album should have dropped 6 months ago when she was really buzzing on the airwaves. I don't ever hear them play her song anymore. Good luck regardless.
she has a strong following and supporters so I think the album will do ok although I agree it should have been put out 6 months ago probably would have more sells but I'm sure she'll do good reguardless. It sucks when you gota wait on a label to put out your album

You may be right, I really don't know how big her following is or why it took so long to get an album together. I'm not knocking anyone because I don't know what the reasons are. But if I had an artist ready to release a potential single that gets the spins she did, I would make sure we had an album ready to roll to capitalize if it catches on. An album should follow 2-3 months max.

When you look at the majors, this is pretty much the formula they use except they release a few singles. I expect alot of new music to be hitting the airwaves in Mar/Apr for that summer time push, I could be wrong though.

Forreal bro I agree 100% I'm starting to think maybe the Sony deal might not have been the best choice based on the delay on her album but then again like you said I don't know what the reasons are why it wasn't released sooner but either way im looking forward to hearing it. Sound like an interesting project

No, it was the right deal because Sony will ensure they meet the buyer's demand. It costs money to print 20,000-100,000 (as an example, not sure what the demand is for her album) cds plus you have towait on your money. It is a business and it takes money to make money. That is problem with the Bay, imo. You can be hottest artist in the world but without the financial backing in place, it won't matter. If I am an artist, I am trying to bang out singles and stack songs until one catches. That way when they come looking you are ready. It is about seizing the moment in the music business, again imo.

you make a strong and valid point plus she gets creative control of her music so thats another plus to this deal not like other labels

Reck, what you are doing for these artists for free, people charge. Labels need people to help promote, send emails, spam boards, etc. Go get yourself a ficticious business name, register it with the county, let the public know and start a little business. Even if you are doing it for free eventually it could lead to bigger things. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself. That is on the house because I like you.

There are also a couple other license requirements too. Check with your county recorder.

you know I actually thought about doing that for a while cause I promote hella artists that I come across that I feel make dope music and promote them everywhere and help them get their CD's into stores, get them known on other boards besides this one and do a lot for artists that arent even from my city or region for free on the strenght just because I like to help artist get their music out there. I even had artist come at me online and ask if I can help promote them and I do it free of charge. I'll think about it more though. I like the way you described it though seems like the way to go. Thanx Fam! I'll soak in all the wisdom that your giving me right now!

One thing about the Bay rap scene Reck, everyone wants shit for free. Like I said, don't cheat yourself kiddo. You got a good heart obviously, don't let the sharks bleed it to the death because they will. When you have a business, you have overhead costs (however minimal those costs may be) and anyone who doesn't understand that is a person looking for a handout.

It would probably cost about $500 bucks or so to set up depending on the fees in your county. You may have to pay estimated taxes too but those aint shit either. They are pennies on the dollar, the other tax stuff just wait until the end of the year because you probably won't generate too much revenue right away anyway.
