Rockstar have announced that Grand Theft Auto IV will be released worldwide on April 29 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. "We've pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment." said the founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games.

A Rockstar rep has told MTV that the PS3 was definitely a contributing factor to the delayed release of GTA IV. But he quickly turned things positive by stating that they are now neck and neck and the PS3 is no longer an issue and there is nothing wrong with the PS3 version as its identical to the Xbox 360 version. The same rep also confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of the game will NOT require a hard drive.
