That's what I think anyways. The US cannot afford to strike Iran right now with everything going on, but Israel can.

F22 stealth bomber

World's most advanced fighter jet currently only in US hands. After House of Representatives lifts ban on its sale, security establishment assesses jet may be offered to Israel.

The United States may supply Israel with the most advanced stealth fighter jet in the world – the F22 Raptor – considering the war in Lebanon and the Iranian threat, the Israeli security establishment has assessed.

The US has not yet exported the F22 to any of its allies. Recently, however, the House of Representatives lifted its nine year ban on the sale of the advanced jet outside the United States. No real contacts have yet been made on the matter, but the lifting of the ban on its sale has paved the way for such a deal.

Anti-missile systems project

In addition, security officials assessed Wednesday that the US administration would significantly boost funding of the joint American-Israeli program to develop anti-missile systems.

Well, this could also be a factor why Iran is doing this:

SECRET FUND FOR THE BOMB

Is Tehran Maintaining a Clandestine Nuclear Fund?

Phone calls by a top Iranian official tapped by a Western intelligence service apparently indicate that Iran has set aside a secret fund to expand its nuclear program, DER SPIEGEL has learned.

Iran may have set aside a secret $418 million fund to protect its nuclear sites from attack and build a secret new nuclear plant, according to a Western intelligence service which says it has tapped phone calls by a top Iranian politician.

Iranian parliamentary deputies had complained in February that they did not have access to detailed information about the government's budget. The draft budget contained a clause for a "special fund" and was written by Farhad Rahbar, vice-president and head of the planning and budget organization.

Rahbar is also one of the directors of the "Control Center for Nuclear Issues". This dual function allowed Rahbar, who is close to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, to increase the military budget for the current year 2006/2007 by around 30 percent and "conceal" the special fund.

The monitored messages show that the $418 million will be to upgrade the defense of Iranian nuclear facilities around the country, especially for tunnelling projects because Iran's leadership fears an American or Israeli surprise attack.

Other intended uses for the money are the production of dozens of new centrifuges for uranium enrichment, the expansion of its research program and -- this is making Western intelligence services especially nervous -- construction of a secret new nuclear plant at an unkown location.

LOL, make sure you have no technological advantages over anyone! Brilliant!
Are you talking about the US selling Israel the F-22? LOL! They've been selling weapons for YEARS. Fuck man, didn't you know that the US, Britain and France are some of the world's largest weapons dealers? If you ever need weapons that use plutonium, well let'se just say this: Now you know where to go.

What do you even know bout the new joint strike fighter [F-35] the US has already had developed thanks to Lockheed Martin? Not as fast as the Raptor and it isnt made for Air-to-Air but rather for Air-to-Ground but it's going to have something and google this up if you're interested called "Directed-energy weapon." I don't know much on the weapons system but considering it's only gonna have 2 bunker buster type bombs and 2 missles this is going to be high grade shit you're dealing with.

^^for-real? I thought most democrats are anti- anything that might lead to a war.
Besides voting for war as Mexicancommando correctly pointed out, historically, Democrats have been responsible for some of the worst crimes of U.S. imperialism.

Remember, it was under Clinton’s reign that "regime change" in Iraq became official U.S. policy, with the passing of the Iraq Liberation Act in 1998 and the U.S. regularly bombed Iraq and enforced economic sanctions that took the lives of more than 1 million people. It was the Clinton administration that paved the way for a number of other policies now enshrined in the Bush Doctrine.

Also, it was president Harry Truman that ordered the atomic obliteration of two Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as a demonstration of U.S. power at the end of WWII. And Lyndon Johnson, who many in the 1960s peace movement supported as a "lesser evil," dramatically escalated the war in Vietnam.

The war agenda flows from the nature of the capitalist system itself, it matters not if the Democrats or Republicans are in power.

are you kidding, she would probly jump at the opportunity and state that she is doing it to allow other countries to have access to our technology, or some other stupid reason.
