According to authorities, he was at the wheel of a 2005 Dodge Magnum, in heavy traffic at about 8 PM when his car struck the rear of another vehicle. That vehicle was pushed into the rear of a city police squad car.
Simmons was with a woman and two children in the Dodge. No one in that vehicle or in the squad car was injured. Authorities said the driver of the car struck by Simmons was complaining of injuries and taken to a hospital nearby.
In December of 2004, Simmons pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and driving under the influence of drugs at Kennedy Airport when he drove an S.U.V. with lights and sirens, stopped another vehicle, claimed to be a federal agent, and then sped away.
Back in 2001, he was ordered to serve a 15-day jail sentence for driving without a license.
DMX, has been one of rap's heavyweights since the late '90s and has recently moved into acting, with roles in films Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds and Cradle 2 the Grave.

When the victim resisted, Simmons drove his SUV to the parking lot tollbooth and demanded to be let out after identifying himself as a federal agent. When the attendant refused, Simmons drove through the gate and was promptly arrested. Police searched Simmons' vehicle and allegedly recovered crack cocaine and Depakote, a prescription drug used to treat bipolar disorder.
Authorities later brought Simmons to Elmhurst Hospital after the rapper allegedly became disruptive and appeared "zoned out." The rapper has been charged with robbery, criminal impersonation and criminal mischief.

man what are yall sayin?? he got sentenced in the summer of 02 for six years... he should be out in 08 or even earlier because of 'good behavior'... i never heard anything about getting an extra year for a fight. plus that doesn't make sense if he had good behavior all the way untill he got in the fight, y would he get a whole extra year? just wondering.........
I didn't see the tape so i cant really call dude a rapist, just having a tag team on tape whether its consentual or not is enough to make a jury send someone like him to the joint for a long ass time. It was probably intended to be a blackmail thing, the braud was most likley a gold diggin hoodrat since she stole money from dude. Mystikal and his boys probably pulled a consentual train on her on tape and threatned to let it out if she didn't give the money back and she slapped a case on him. Thart just speculation though. I do know one thing though.....
