It's basic economics... if you support the movement, you are going to shows, you're buying CD's (legitimately), you're requesting songs on the radio, you're putting other people up on the shit. That's supporting. I say alot of us Bay Area folks do that cuz we take pride in our region as being original, as being trendsetters as being different. We confident (some say cocky), in knowing that alot of shit out there that come from us, we don't get credit for. There is no doubt that most everyone in the Bay agrees with that. No argument right? Then within our region, that's where the hating amongst ourselves starts. Oh this Town artist is better than this V-Town artist or Frisco artist. Or niggaz out this way is better than niggaz out that way. That divide and conquer type shit. That is the shit that is hurting the movement. Whether it be hyphy or not. If it were mob music the same shit would be going on. Some people say they don't like the hyphy movement, that's cool. But when you got cats out there working hard on they grind putting in 150% into their shit, who the fuck are you to hate on that shit? Instead of focusing on shit that you don't like, why don't you put us on the shit you do like. The hating is too much. People hating on 40, if it wasn't 40 it would be whoever else is on the forefront.
I personally support whoever is on they job and grinding hard putting out quality music. I buy the Quinn's, 40's, The Team's, Keak's, B-Legit's, Marv's etc. The veteran's in this shit that been doing and still got good shit. But I also buy some of the new cats that got potential and are grinding hard. That Beeda Weeda, F.A.B., Dem Hoodstars, Bailey, Big Rich (when his shit drop), Ya Boy, J. Stalin, etc. etc. cat's grinding hard putting out quality music.
Everybody says stop hating when somebody is talking bad about them. Why don't we just start supporting the ones that are grinding towards getting the bay it's just due. No need to hate, if something is garbage then it probably won't last. And if you're the one putting out garbage shit, get your money man and invest. hahaha, cuz it ain't gonna last if you think you gonna get by for years on it.
I've only been buying Bay CD's for 2006. That's just my thing, cuz the MTV's and major record companies are looking at $$$$. If an artist has support from his own region first, then people in the industry can probably get behind an artist and push him/her. But if the artist are getting fickled reactions then how would you act as a businessman towards that?
Sorry for the long post but now I just had to get that shit off de chest one time. Cuz it's the same shit over & over again.
