Sultry Pacers Enjoy Miller Time

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1 -- Reggie Miller may no longer be the Indiana Pacers' best player. But he's still their best player in the clutch.

Miller scored 13 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Pacers extended their winning streak to four games with a 92-87 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Miller was Indiana's best player for most of the past 15 seasons. Despite playing in the twilight of his career, the 37-year-old guard is still taking - and making - the biggest shots of the game for the Pacers.

Los Angeles had an 85-82 lead after Sean Rooks' dunk with 2:34 remaining. But Indiana's Ron Artest followed with a jump shot and Miller buried a turnaround jumper for an 86-85 lead with 1:09 to go.

Miller sank another jumper with 37 seconds left. After Clippers guard Eric Piatkowski made a basket, Miller buried a pair of free throws with 10 seconds to play.

Ron Mercer made two free throws with one second left and finished with 20 points for Indiana, which has won 13 of its last 14 games.

Rookie Marko Jaric scored a season-high 25 points and Elton Brand had 20 and 12 rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost 16 of their last 18 meetings with the Pacers.
