Why would you want to put more money behind a single that has faded from the public eye and was released over 8 months ago?
They didnt like what they were getting for paying to get the single played so they pulled the push behind it......cut their losses and moved on.....to FTI....FTI blew up....almost like a second single. You see Tech on MTV sayin "go download my album for free", then sales double.....what's wrong with that? Would more money behind Slacker done the same thing? I really doubt it.
Now you come to the end of the FTI wave. Everyone at Strange and MSC sit down and think about what song can we put out that will really get a lot of radio spins? Im A Playa.......then you have people like Tech who have been sayin to put Imma Tell as the single all along. I think he even wanted it to be the first single. Anyways, the decision was made to put Im A Playa and Imma Tell on the single. And this time they are going to "play the game". Truth is, these two songs are much more commercially friendly than Slacker ever was.
Delgado....i would expect someone who "knows a lot about marketing" to understand how the radio and video industry works. MTV wont play a video until it has a certain amount of spins on the radio and the radio wont play a single until it has a certain amount of bread in its pocket from the record company.
So this time.......Strange is ready to break bread and make Imma Tell a success.

I understand fully where you are coming from man, because if Jay-Z did make "Slacker" and the video, it would be at number 1 on MTV and BET, but since Tech's not as established, they require a minimum of 500 spins so his video does get airplay, but once you hit it big, they dont tend to care as much because, "They want your money!" and "Wanna suck you dick dry" until your music falls off according to what the fans feel about it... Let Kool Moe D come back into the picture, even he doesn't have to have all that radio play, just show up at the back door of 106th & Park and they give him the red carpet, Yessuh' Massa Moe D treatment, and Voila' he's in the rotation. They dont realize good music anymore, until the money comes into the picture... So they best video in the world ever isn't the best or good enough according to them until it has that money inside of the envelope with it, then they see it. Leave it up to the Heat Myser, and that's business, but I say it's a rip off and since their power in dollars in more than our power in numbers such as record sales, you might as well be a Hollywood hopeful without a light at the end of the tunnel...
So that's why I say Fuck the Industry, because people would say, why do I say that, they aint did a thing to me, but honestly, what if I want to shoot a video, then I am a victim, and not blind to the fact because I dont have every A&R and CEO trying to throw money at me and collabo's with Garth Brooks, and remixes with Puffy. I miss the old MTV Raps and shit like that... There were so many different styles of music, from Talib Kweli to KRS-One, to shit gangster Bone Thugs, but now, if you aint singing with Phil Collins, a sample from Aerosmith, or a teenage heartthrob, then you gets no luv, you gotta pay up.... So fuck em'...
And who is Travis... Dogg, let's put it like this! He know's fucking good music when he hears it, and if he was behind MTV or BET's rotation, then we love love to tune in to that shit on time everyday... That's a big part of why Tech is getting his tours, shit is running smooth, and muthafucka's are knocking the door of Strange Music camping out there waiting to see the light of Day from Tech and not the other way around...
