I think if cats are jackin beats for mixtapes, they should be free...like Cane & Arsen did. I haven't heard any of the other mixtapes out there, but if they have all original shit, wouldn't that be like a compilation, only calling it a mixtape cause nobody likes comps anymore?? If it's not all original shit I can't believe cats are even selling 'em....we're doing a 100% original ALBUM, which by today's standards would be considered a "mixtape" to some people....and it will be totally FREE!! So everybody look out for "FROM THE GROUND UP" coming from Street Soundz Entertainment/Sound Foundationz in 2004...

Don't think we fell off, we're just beginning!!

We have a mixtape coming out on 40 Ounce in a couple of weeks. I understand peopel's feelings about mixtapes but I do recognize their importance as promotional avenues though.

Our's is a two disc CD featuring half original and half jacked shit for $12.00 featuring JAY TEE, OBIE TRICE, CELLY CEL, MAC DRE, DA UNDA DOGG, SEAN T, THE MOSSIE, I-ROCC, SMIGG DIRTEE, LUNI COLEONE, ECAY UNO, PLAYA RAE, NBD, ARSEN, MISTA CANE,
MR. SANDMAN, DAMU, A-WAX, BABY BASH, YOUNG D-BOYZ, TAYDATAY, and more...

Mixtapes are good side projects for artists to keep their name moving.

Peace

B-12 said it best it a good way for artist to their name movin. It also can create a buzz for artist that people haven't herd of. If the shit is done the right way, it is the perfect way to keep your fans at ease while you are finishing up your real album. We (THE FRONTLINE) did two mixtapes one was called THE BOOTLEGG 2 and it was half jacked beats and half origional shit and the other was WATCH OUT NOW and it was over all Ric-Rock tracks (a few were used, but the majority was exclusive shit stright from Ric-Rock). Like I always say, as the shit is quality product...keep doin the shit.

I personally love mixtapes as long as they dont cost as much as a regular album (they should be no more than 6 dollars) and as long as they dont take away from the time you would have been spending on your actual album.
