What would it be? I would like to see Clyde Carson and Kaz Kyzah (The Team) get back together for an album, I'd like to see the Federation get back in the game, and I would like that nigga Messy to get off the coke and start making real music again.

I'd like to see the bay to get back to what they were good at instead of following trends.

Substance in songs is also what I'm missing. If somebody like Berner is now what the bay stands for...than I stop being a fan.

I would like to see some quality out of these Bay artists, both lyrically and music production.

unity, seems like its mainly livewire doin shit with other livewire artists, with the occasional feature, we should have more cross-city collabos, like full albums, similiar to the keak/psd/messy album, we need consistant comps like the old school 17 reasons, but with livewire,e-40,mob figaz, pretty much a full bay album=east bay south bay west bay north bay all working collectivally, then flood with "all-star"videos, seems thats what the south, texas, new york been doing all along and its worked for them

Exactly...IMO rappers need to get off the south's nuts and learn how to pick beats again too

I would like to see rappers and fans stop using money as an excuse for lowering standards and expectations because "they're trying to reach a different audience, to get paid". I would like to see them reclaim some of the dignity they sold.

I feel like the Bay has to get back to the point where each city has their own distinct sound, and each rapper has their own style. Too many copycats. Stylistically, lyrically, and sound wise, it's just way too many copycats and wave riders.

i agree, feel like we crumbled and now are in a rebuliding stage and slowly starting to reconstruct, OAKLAND has their own sound at the moments, meanwhile san jose and SF have 1,000 rappers all with different sounds, which is not a bad thing... but there is alot of mimicking other peoples style and less originality going on

Well, Vallejo has never really had one style across the board. Just a blend of pimpish/gangsta rap that a lot have been able to do well. I don't really think an entire city of rappers need to have one distinct sound, just stop trying to be like mainstream artists and come with an original sound, and you're good.

more creative sampling in the beats, as opposed to all instrumentation.

I think DJ Fresh and Rob Lo are great in this regard (which is not to say that they mostly sample).

$$$ of sample clearance these days of course has had a huge effect on (lack of) this. That and bay producers largely having a "make your own shit" attitude towards sampling (going back to the Al Eaton days).

If The Team comes back, I would like to see all 3 members rapping and ShoNuff providing the backdrop. I think Mayne Mannish provided a necessary contrast to the deeper sound Clyde and Kaz brought to the table. Having a sole producer responsible for the beats allows for a much stronger and fluid final product.

I really want to hear a group album from everyone who records at the Hiero HQ. I think having that veteran talent with all the new Livewire/PTB artist/producers would make for a really interesting project, as well as encourage the younger artists to really step their bars up.

I WOULD LIKE 2 SEE THE LEVEL OF QUALITY RETURN 2 WHAT THE BAY WAS KNOWN 4.
I DONT GIVE HALF THE RAPPERS NOW A CHANCE BECUZ I KNOW THEY JUST THREW TOGETHER A TRACC AND POST IT AS A BRAND NEW SINGLE.
I WOULD LIKE RAP 2 BECOME BELIEVABLE AGAIN. I NEVER WAS INTO THE "FLOSS RAPPIN" BUT PEOPLE THINK THATS WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS 2 HEAR...IF SOME REAL NIGGAS CHECCED ALL THESE "RAP WHAT THEY WANT 2 HEAR" ARTISTS...WE MIGHT HAVE A BETTER REPRESENTATION IN THE REAL INDUSTRY. I WATCHED MANY BAY AREA ARTISTS I RESPECTED TRY 2 MAKE ALBUMS LIKE THEY WERE FROM THE SOUTH. JUST STICC 2 YOUR GUNS AND BE YOURSELF. POPULAR MUSIC IS DECIDED BY THE FANS AND I KNOW SOME FANS ARE FROM THE SAME KIND OF BACCGROUND I AM....STOP LETTING ALL THAT SUCCA SHIT SLIDE AND TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT U FEEL....THE TRUTH CAN CHANGE AN ARTISTS' VIEWS ABOUT HIMSELF AND HIS MUSIC. I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND. GOOD MUSIC SELLS...JUST AINT NOBODY MAKIN NONE NO MORE.100

That's what I haven't liked E-40's last few albums. My Ghetto Report Card was the last album I bought from him. The last releases, I wasn't feeling. I thought he was trying to cater to the South too much instead of keeping it bay. I think his most successful album was "In a Major Way" and that album was mobbed out. When you switch up it can turn out for the worse...
