I need help on what to get for making music over the computer

i have a condensor mic, an m audio fast track, adobe audition, and a cheap mixer, for some reason the m audio fast track doesnt let me record onto my computer, what else will i need to record onto my computer? will i need an interface and a pre amp or what??

The fast track should Record into your computer, first make sure you installed it correctly, than make sure in Adobe Audition you got it selected on every channel you want to record in. You probably gotta go to preferences and change the main soundcard to the fast track. Hope this helps.

and it says using a dynamic mic, i believe mine is a condesor, i dont know if that makes a difference also
