ok so I recently reinstalled Windows XP Pro on a Dell laptop, and I'm tryin to get this bitch connected to the internet and never had this much trouble doing so.

I go to network connections and all thats in there is a 1394 connection, I've tried making a new connection with no luck nothing happens, I've tried running the wizard and it says it should be working but I got nothing. I have no packets running thourgh the 1394 connection and I just wanna set up a new connection on this laptop...

I got a cable modem to a hub which plugs in the downstairs computer then I got a ethernet cable running upstairs to another hub that plugs into my desktop comp(which internet works on) and to my xbox360(which works as well, then i got another ethernet cable running from that same hub to my laptop but I get fuckin nothing on this laptop and these wizards and setups aren't doing shit...

please help im gonna hit something

I've just never had that issue where the ethernet drivers werent installed when i did the reinstall on the 10+ computers I have fucked with... shit is just frustrating... appreciate any help tho.
