This guy at my work who i used to play a lot of Gears of War 2 with is 56 years old and still HELLA into gameing.. I can talk to him about video games for hours.. He still gets Game Informer mailed to him and everything.. He used to get drunk and whoop foo's on Gears with me.. Dude is hella coo.. His kids play and shit too but they arnt nearly as into it as he is..

His wife has had to even kick him off sometime while we were playin so she can watch Celebrity Dance Show or w/e that shit is lol.. But yeah, i dont think you're ever too old to play video games.. Older people read books, and i see Video Games as the ultimate story telling source, so why not? It's just as if you were reading a book, except you're interacting with it and watching it over a t.v instead of paper.

How old is too old to make video games? How old is too old to play bones, checkers, poker or chess? How old is too old to watch movies and dvd's?

just as heresy eluded to. its just a part of our culture now just as anything else is. you cant attach an age to it.

i just think its odd that this question always comes out about video games and nothing else. i dont understand why video games still carry the stigma of being for kids. the average age of person that plays video games is 35. thats fuckin older than all of us!

the percentage of video gamers under 17 years old is only 18%. thats even less than the percentage of women that play video games which has risen to 35%

I was browsing the EA forums when fight night 4 dropped, there was a 72 year old man that was posting about how excited he was when he played fight night, talking about reliving the great fights like ali vs fraizer, etc. That's dope. Most old people I know don't even know how to use a cell phone, much less work the internets. So I hope when I'm 72 years old I'm playing some sick as virtual reality system, on the PS17.

People that get there ass handed in Gaming are the ones carrying this bullshit stigma that there is an age cap the other half is close minded older generation that think its a waste of time, sometimes females with short attention spans tend to cut off gaming time for there own selfish reasons like to "communicate".

Jake for the sake of humanity I do hope that female gaming has rose to 35% its the only way to get these bitches off our backs and into our world. The more bitches jump in the rest will follow, cuz they will feel left out.

Agreed. I think this question is a few years late. Game consoles are not only for video games anymore. They've crossed the border and are communication platforms now. I keep up with family, friends, and online buddies as much on my XBOX as I do on peer-to-peer networks on the computer.

I grew up playing video games. It was how I passed the free time I accumulated.

My dad played Gin Rummy to pass the time. He's 67, and still plays Gin Rummy to pass the time.

Video games are, in my own eyes, a life investment, a coping mechanism for hard times in my life, and something that I love dearly.

I know this post is a bit deep for video games, but I urge you to look past the topic and understand what I'm saying.

I'm 37 and arcade games were getting big in the late 70's. Atari 2600 dropped in about 1980 and was to us what the OG Nintendo was to the crowd around 30. Most the guys i know 40 and under play video games.

Never.

Video games are a part of my life, and have been for the majority of it. I haven't always been into games as much as I am now. I'm glad to have a wife that supports my gaming. She doesn't play much with me, but she lets me play almost anytime I want to.
