Whats with homeboy rappers that made it now a days.... when their coming up they do shit "for the music" they want all the support they can get, but as soon as they make it big time n their the shit, they charge up the ass for a 16 for somebody thats trying to come up too, who might even have more flows than the nigga thats charging.

I know times get hard, and you need to make money, I understand that. but i dont think that means to charge a "Homeboy" a G for a 16 you feel me? whats your guys opinions....

on the real.what do you consider makeing it?ive released a few albums, sold a few thousand.i think im on track with what i want to do and what i can do.with that said ill never charge when i know for fact a homies album is coming out.period.when i do charge it might be $50 a verse or ill trade verses for beats.alot of fools be bullshitting about projects they are putting out.its a waste of time recording a verse for someone that will never see the light of day.personally i would never pay over what im chargeing for a verse.all the homies ive worked with and continue to work with have shown love for evilside rec's and i dont forget that.see im the same homie i was even before i started rappin.nothing has changed on my end.now certain homies are chargeing alot of bread for verses thats on them.to each his own....

You and me both Richie!!

All bullshit aside smokie's right that no homeboy has done over 10,000 wit one project to be charging a g or even 5/600. But as for Rapperz in general, I cant stand foolz bitchin about thats the only way they can pay there rent, DO something ya bitch! Also I think some are full of shit when they try to compare it to the dope game. the fact of the matter is no i wouldnt ask a homie for a free sack but he might give it to me at what he put up for it if he want to help me out.......how much do they artists put up for each word? $0.00 per word. & the foremoentioned obviously gots no job so much is he losing in taking time to write it and record it? 0.00 per hour..........
dont add up to 500$ a verse does it? LOL
I've never even asked a rapper how much they charge so i aint bitter wit no body, if i reach out to somebody and they extend back a price i say ''oh, ok, stay up'' n keep it movin' but hearing the responses giving to some solid ass g'z i know (who are fuckin tight too) sure makes me shake my head.......

You gotta understand where the other side is coming from, if your serious about your music then you shouldnt have no problem paying a well known homyboy for a verse, this is a business. Any homeboy rapper that got a name have to put blood, sewat and tears into makeing his or her name known. Aint shit free in this world. Any lop can clame to be a homeboy and rap, just because hes a homeboy hes supposed to get free verses?hell no! that muther fucker could be a D.O., s snitch, have a rape case anything. mutha fuckas need to learn about paying dues... if a rapper was already well known then he wouldnt have to pay. and no words dont cost but time is money and time costs. just cuzz one artists wont pay for a verse doesnt mean someone else wont. But as I see it aint no rapper worth more than $500.00 But studio time does cost and so does gas to get to your spot. and if a mutha fucka got a name then hes making you money cuzz people are going to buy your album because you got so and so on it. so y not give em a cut? at the end of the day if you want free verses, pay your dues and make a name for yourself first. then they will want to fuck with you.

No disrespect to you but how can they have homeboy love when your not there homeboy? If they were from your hood or sumthing then I can see you complaining. And A-Wax is a Blood.

I USED TO BE UPSET ABOUT ENE RAPPERS CHARGING..
KEY WORD IS USED TOO..
I COME TO REALIZE IF THAT MAN WANTS TO MAKE HIS MONEY THAT WAY..
THEN HE'S ENTITELED TO THAT..
BUT ON THE OTHER HAND.. BE REASONABLE WITH YOUR PRICE..
CAUSE YOU THINK YOUR DOIN IT BIG.. YOU KNOW YOUR NOT..
HOW IM FEELIN.. IF YOU REALLY THINK ABOUT IT..
YOU RAP..?? BRING THAT SHIT AS HARD AS YOU CAN..
CAUSE BELIEVE ME.. SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE.. THE ONES THAT WAS TRYNA CHARGE BEFORE.. THEY WANT TO FEATURE ON YOUR SHIT..!!

JUST SHINE HOMIE.. IF YOU CAN.. IT ALL WILL FALL INTO PLACE..!!

good convo!
i definitely feel you should compensate homeboys for, and more so show real carnalismo to the homiez who welcome you into they're studio or take time to head out to your hood! and even as vital as street status is to a majority of us almost everybody is emailing vocals now so you dont even know how that man really acts in person.....
and wit somebody bad mouthing every rapper........ it could allways be a toss up.
just because your a fan of somebody you might think they owe you a discount, but they might feel thier verse is goin to your sell your 1000 cd's.....you dont need estasblished names to make a tight azz Song so..................
Mental Ill and Rhino made both made they key point that people who want to actually become a serious contender in the biz need to take heed to:
Make a name n good music without the crutch that is''famous'' featurez and the big boys will seek you out!

Shoot me a beat i'll give you a free 16 lol

On a real note though if you are serious about what you do, you should invest in your music/project.

You are investing money in your project, Break bread with the people you actually want to work with though not just someone that got a big name out there.

If I Wa$ To Rap And Be Known, I Wouldn't Charge Cuz Fir$t Of All, Real Motherfuckerz Recognize Real Talent. I Wouldn't Mind To Open Doorz For "Homiez". You Ain't Got To Be From My Town To Get A Pa$$, You Ain't Got To Be Famou$, You Ju$t Need To Know What Your Doing. The$e D.O'z, $nitchez, Maybe $crapz, Would Need To Think Twice Before Trying To Fuck With You, $hit They Would Be $tupid To Do That. Anywayz Homiez Charging, Well Wat Can I $ay It I$ Wat It I$ We Ju$t Deal With It Everyone Ha$ There Own Point Of View........
I Wouldn't Mind Paying Though, Cuz Homiez Like The$e Ene'z Right Here Got Talent..........

100 for oso seems fair
300 for tone im sure u could negotiate that down as well as the AWAX price

u gotta hustle negotiate , sit down and confrence these days. shoot 50 for a smokie verse seems fair to me too. i could see him charge a lil more

^^^ heres why people feel it nessesary to charge^^^^

i have sent verses to dudes even songs for the projects that will never leave their mamas computer

i got a wife and kids my time is valuable.
i gotta find a studio. schedule a time thats good for me and the enginer, travel, pay for time in sum cases, drive across town etc

but i do it for free because im still trying to get on. u gotta pay dues. but after a while if u have a buzz u should charge for your work and time. BARTERING is a good way to go too
