“Hip Hop is dead!” is a phrase that’s been thrown around for years now and has even found it’s way to album title status . . . assuming that it’s true then . . .

If Nas and Jay-Z are the hip hop greats that many, including themselves, claim them to be and they are releasing albums, performing, etc, yet and still hip hop is dead, what does that say about their supposed greatness?

Jay iz hella unoriginal. Str8 up. He bites way too many rhymes. For the record I'm not one of those BART mothafuckaz cuz most of that bird shit droppin out of the Bay is trash. Jay-Z can rap no doubt but I just can't get over all that biting he be doing.

Someone please delete thiz thread.

Jay-Z iz overratted & only a dick rydin dumby would defend hiz lyrics.

Everyone knowz thiz & u made thiz thread 4 nothin

The funny thing about all this "iz"...

his lyrics have substance and words longer than 7 letters in them, unlike the Bay Area cats you ride the dicks of all day.

I got nothin against the bay or any artist from there, but ya'll motherfuckers need to expand your horizons.

If I want to listen to some slappers, Imma put on some of that old E-40 or a lil Spice 1. If I want to listen to that hard shit, Imma bump some triple six. If I wanna listen to some of that dark shit, Ill throw on that Esham. If Im in the mood for old school, It'll be KRS. If I want straight hip hop, Ill spin that MC Breed. If I want that G shit, Im pullin out Eazy from the CD book. But ya'll mothafuckaz dont give nobody credit but cats from California. Quit being so damn close minded.

bottom line: 22 too's lyrics is more clever than any song I've heard out of the bay in my entire life listening to hip hop.

First off u need 2 shut the fuck up with all of that "dick ridin" shit talkin uv shootin @ niggaz.

Second if u look @ my sig you'll see that I'm not from the Bay. Actually I've never even lived in the Bay.

And third I can count on one hand of how many Bay artist I listen to. IMO Tech N9ne iz the tightest nigga on the mic right now.

Itz true that a lot of Cali niggaz need 2 expand their horizon. But IMO thatz every region cuz I see West Coast niggaz hatin(most notably the bay & LA), East(who are very bias) & Midwest niggaz hate & the South defendz themselves so hard from the critics that they end up sayin some hatin azz shit.

I stated my opinion about what I think about Jay-Z & I stick by it. How u getvon here & dirctly attack the Bay? Jay has put out some god music but the nigga iz overratted cuz he has stole too much material just like Master P.

Since when was this about Bay music? There's plenty of albums in the Bay that came out in the past six months that was better than that Kingdom Come bullshit.. Can't say the same for Sac though, whens the last time anybody from there even dropped? Bunch of washed up rappers from there, so you can't really talk.. Never even heard of Mudville..

Mudville iz Stockton. Stockton Ports minor league team use 2 play under the name "Mudville" for a few yearz so thatz justwe call Stockton. For the record I didn't throw the Bay in thiz convo a couple of other sqaure azz niggaz did.

Talk about Sac all u want cuz the shit doesn't fade me none. Az far az washed up rappers from Sac.......there are washed up rapperz everywhere.

I hear good music from the Bay but most of the time itz the same recycled sound. 80 percent of the Hyphy artist need ar quit. Hyphy aint 4 everybody. Sac rap muzic still got some heavy hitterz. Brotha Lynch, Nuttfactors, X-Raided & Loki are still smashin. How are u gonna make a comment about Sac niggaz not puttin out any thing when The Bay had one of itz worse ever yearz. Most of thst shit shouldn't of even been conceived

1) In case you didn't make the connection, I assumed you're from the Bay because of all the "iz" you use when you're typing. you know, all that "thizz" shit them cats are always on.

2) It wasn't a direct attack toward you or the Bay in general. Shit, I wont lie- I was 2legit2quit back in the day... when I was like 6.

3) I found it ironic how someone who seems so heavily influenced by the modern day "thizz" type bay music want's to call Jay-Z garbage (or something along those lines, whatever you said suggesting his rap skills aren't worth mentioning) In comparison, Jay-Z's lyrical content shits all over "goin dummy, gettin stupid, ghost ridin whips" and frying your brain on retarded azz drugz.
