Help w/video clip

I have a few movies on my comp that i can watch on my comp but cant transfer to disc. The file type is "video clip"...i dont know the extention of the file.. How can i find that out? Or does any1 know about this type of file and how to get it to disc? I've tried NERO and simular programs but they dont reconize the file. Thanx in advance for the help

i dont know what mode your trying to burn in but in nero when your selecting the file just click on the box that says file types and select all types. and to find out what file ext it has if you got windows xp open up my computer, click tools on the top, then folder options. in folder options click the view tab in that list some where it will have a check box that says hide extentions for known file types. uncheck that

Or you can use GSpot to find out the type of file it is, along with what codecs were used to encode the videos.

You can also use AVI2VCD to help recode the videos to be burnable to CD's.
