Well......it appears that my attempts at peace and tranquility were promptly halted by the forces of haterism that exist in society today. I know it is a sickness and many don't know that they are inflicted with it.......but hopefully one day they will see the error of their ways.

Until then, I apologize to everyone for the retards that apparently haven't figured out that they are not wanted here. We are in the process of trying to rid our beloved board of these pests as soon as possible so that we can all return to a better quality of living.

We will also have grief counselors available for all those who will not be able to handle the departure of these vermin.

If you aint know this...IRC is like a "live" chat room...once you press return, about 3 seconds later, everybody else can see it..the beauty of it is you can CLEARLY see everybody who's in your room/"channel", and if they're pissing you off, you can KICK/BAN THEM and then they wont be able to come back!!

Download it...install it...connect to "DALnet" if you can figure out how, then go to: "Commands: Query User" and type "Tadou what up" in the box...if that dont work, send me a PM on this board...

Its a tight program once you get used to it...holla @ me if ur havin troubles...

They've got so many things to make you anti-accessable (ignore, restricted messaging, ban privelages, "Moderated" room where only the people you ALLOW to talk can talk....and madd more other shit...

If you aint tried it yet...i'd strongly suggest it...im on it all the time collabing with people, gettin beats, gettin feedback on songs, etc etc..you can even send files through it, which is tight...

Just try it...and you'll see...its completely different from all that smiley-face, size 27 red type, 700 button shit...

yeah i don't think so. how anyone could say that AIM/ICQ is like being on the phone and IRC is like being in-person escapes me...cuz...that's complete bullshit. IRC is garbage. the protocol was developed over 10 years ago. ever wonder why it takes 3 seconds for a message to get through? cause it's Internet Relay Chat... the servers have to relay messages all over the place. IRC is good for getting mp3's, porn, movies and software.

Allow me to detract that last statement, and present a more accurate analogy. (laymans: Ima try this again)

ICQ/AIM is like passing notes back and forth in class in that you have plenty of time to formulate responses, and you generally arent in front of "audiences"; its just 1 on 1 (like the phone)

IRC is like 'in person' because you are in a public forum which is usually not limited in size, what you say is heard instantly, and most importantly........if you cant type fast but like to talk shit on the internet, with irc you can make someone look REALLY bad.

i understand the original analogy that's great and all that you're a philosopher, but once again you're analogy is wrong. you choose to go into chat rooms on IRC just the same way that you choose to go into chat rooms on AIM/ICQ. everyone is passing notes on either system, it's whether you choose to listen that counts. the IRC protocol is slow, it's supposed to be a real time network but 3 seconds latency is hardly real time. the only thing that will ever make IRC seem like it's a good protocol is faster internet speeds from the telco. i just don't like IRC because it's insecure, has no voice chat abilities, and it's slow.

it's called the block feature. you can block whoever you want on AIM. And there's an option for you to ACCEPT contections....So you don't get unwanted shit.
