I could give a fuck less about how you grind or what type of gangsta you are. If your music is hot ill put up some doh for it. I don't know why niggas care so much about another nigga's gangsta anyway.
i agree 100%,but we know it is what it is.You can go to any westcoast rap site and people who aint never met so and so rapper, aint know know one from they hood, and they gonna argue and say...naw he is a real street cat.people wanna beleive there favorite gangsta rapper done lived it how he told it in his raps......Its getting ridiculous...A rappers reputation and there story is just as important as there music when getting signed...Its more marketable if the rapper has an interesting story...cant be mad at the business side cause we(not everyone) feed into it...executives come on these sites and they see the big threads with the beefin, they see what gets big responses.....
back on subject,it not unheard of,but its getting harder and harder to get a deal..the days of walking in and spitting a few 16s....even demos are becoming less and less useful...In a nutshell an A&R puts his job on the line everytime he proposes an artist for the label to sign....so its safer for the A&R to find those grindin and creating there own buzz....they they wanna see you doing what they would (the label) on a smaller scale...so grind is important..I Know some recent artist getting signed this way...glasses,young hoggs, bishop,My boy maskerade....gotta put in that work
