my point is... these are all local, independent artists. The meager sales the bay gets right now is all these guys have. This is their bread and butter. if Keak got a hot song, and that hot song is gonna sell his album, but she puts it on her "mixtape", and sells 500 copies, whatever.... thats 500 copies that keak might not sell, cuz people have that song already. ... and independently..500 is a decent amount of $. if she was givin the CD away as promotion, I could understand.. but she's sellin it.. now if its 50 cent tracks or major label artists, with major label budgets, then its cool... but independent artists is gettin robbed by this "mixtape" scam.

example... if i took 10 mac dre songs from his last 3 albums, put them on my "mixtape" and sold em...is that cool? maybe people gonna buy my mixtape instead of investing in the Md albums.. no money goin to his family, but money goin to that DJ.

trust me, i understand the 'promotion" aspect of it... but i also see the business side. so befora yall wanna jump down MY throat, maybe take a look at the game as it is...
