I wouldn't mind a sequel. But I bet alot of these hardheads(no homo) on here are going to complain around about it. If a sequel is true, I am looking forward to it.

shit.. kinda late right? Its probably gonna be a reincarnation of kids with today's tech toys (like Ipod and cell phones) and alot some FX.

Plus, it seems like Hollywood is tryna get old ideas and put them into today's films.

cant take away the original movie though.. classic.

I would much rather they do a sequel than remake the movie altogether. Me watching it largely depends on the cast/director/producer etc. but I'm not against it.

What are they going to do in a sequel? the pirate ship they were searching for sailed off into the sea? are they going to go look for the ship again? or a new adventure?

I dunno who started this remake talk, but this thread is all about the sequel!
All them dudes coming back 20 years later, reminiscin and ending up in a new adventure!

IO don't want a remake, and I don't want them to make a sequel with different actors only a short time later.

I'd think of all of them comin back home twenty years later for some reunion thing and endin up in a new adventure. They should even make it a R rated movie. All the fans are now grown up! And please Mr. Spielberg - NO ALIENS!

A film sequel was in the works, something long desired by fans. Donner said that he had a story he liked and Spielberg behind him, but in 2004 several of the actors from the original revealed that Warner Brothers, the copyright holder, had not shown interest in a sequel. Although Sean Astin told MTV in October 2007 that Goonies 2 is an "absolute certainty.... The writing’s on the wall when they’re releasing the DVD in such numbers," Richard Donner has expressed doubt that the sequel will ever happen, as many of the actors had not shown interest in returning for a sequel. Corey Feldman stated in his November 25, 2008 blog post, "NO! There is no Goonies 2! I’m sorry but it’s just not gonna happen.... Course now that I've said that they’ll do it."
That's from wikipedia, so it could be made up.
