ok so i drive an 84 el dorado biarritz. i was going to the store last night. while i was sitting in the parking lot waiting for homie to come out the store. i kinda turned to pick sumthin up from the back seat and BAM. this snap noise & then my seat falls hellla back like i lowered it with the side button (the one u use to lay your seat down). ok so now its stuck liek that. and the side button doesnt work. like i can hear the motor but it wont lift the seat back up. i can lift the seat up manually but it wont stay it just falls back down. anyone have any idea how i would go about fixing this. cuz i cant drive it like that. imma end up having to jam sumthin in the seat to pry it up if i cant fix it. i hope sum1 can help. thanks yall.

just a guess cuz im no expert but it soundz like the pulley that connected the seat to the turning motor snapped..

go to the junk yard, and get a different seat, you probley stripped the gear, trying to fix the old shit would cost more then just replacing it, you might be able to find one with better leather.

^^^thats what i did in my bucket ass T-bird, i was blazin leaned back and when i tried to put the seat in the upright position the motor just squealed and didnt do shit.
