Aren't you a little bit late? LSU graduation was middle of May I'm pretty sure.

If you are going to be at LSU hit up this place for bomb seafood, they have seafood gumbo too: http://www.tonyseafood.com/ It's not in the nicest part of town, but its the grub.

What sorta stuff do you want to get into in New Orleans? If it's your first time in the city, I would stick to the Quarter and Frenchmen street unless you have someone to take you around. Besides being dangerous, the city is confusing as fuck and you will get lost.

BUT, if you want to go see some shit in new orleans, go here: http://www.backstreetmuseum.org/

This is some underground non-touristy shit. You have to go and chop it up with the dudes that are gonna be hanging around the place, and break them off some bread, they will tell you stories that will blow your mind. Plus the neighborhood is cool. If you are in to history or architecture, man, new orleans neighborhoods will give you plenty to soak up.

edit: scratch that, dont just stick to the quarter unless you are only there for part of a day, head out on the street car lines and get off where looks interesting. They wont take you anywhere _too_ grimy and as long as you can get back on the street car you're cool. No matter where you go, you'll find some neighborhood bars that'll be worthwhile.

I was there last Halloween... downtown is where everything is at: the casino, burbon street and the french quarter... its not that hard you'll find something to do. It was still kinda dead there people where telling me before the flood it was way more cracken. Yea and the food there is great - just ask a local for a recommendation

If you want some bomb ass food, and affordable Jacques Imo's in uptown is the SHIT.

If you want to ball out, Mr. B's Bistro is off the hook downtown.

For a nice music venue, you need to hit up Tipatina's

if your about overpriced drinks and getting pickpocketed

Its cool for tourists though and alot of spots are obviously there concentrated in one place. I like going uptown to the little spots on magizine, st charles and broadway streets. When i lived out there i hung out around tulane alot cuz i had alot of friends who went there.

there was a latenight spot called fnas off thopatoulas (sp) that didnt open till like 1am or some shit. place was kind of a dump but there was always alot of bitches there who were down.

Theres a place called miss meas off napolian and magizine tha was crackin soumetimes. Maddog on magizine if you like thoe bars with 300 different beers on tap kind of spots. A cool lace across the street from that with a balcony, forgot the name.

If you just like clubs stay on bourbon the most fancy ones are there just dont venture too far down bourbon, youll end up in the gay tranny section of the french quarter lol. Theres a couple clubs in meterie and kenner but i never went.
