Yesterday from 10am - 4pm there were a public hearing on the FCC at City Hall. I seen Davey D, KRON news, KPOO, KPFA, Media Alliance and alot of concern Bay Area folks in the bldg, but I did not seen anybody of my peers that day or any other media companies covering this event.

With the radio/tv deregulation vote to take place in June, I've believe there should of been way more support by the hip-hop community. Our voice was not heard at this very important hearing. You think yo' music don't get any radio play now, just wait until these cooperate thugz get all the vote they need to buy up even more radio/tv stations.

The Hip-Hop community should not complain about what the Clear Channel is doing to our local air waves. This was our oppurtunity to make something happen and we blew it. It's not really the net to blame for decreasing album sales, it's thugz like Clear Channel who we should blame and held totally responsable for it.

Have ya'll notice that all the news stations take commercials at the same time? Radio does it too, but not as bad. Also do you trip how one sided the news is? Ya'll stay tune to kpoo.com and sfbayview.com, because as soon as June come around and these thugz get their way all hell is gonna break loose. These up coming protest is gonna make that KPFA protest look small in comparison.

The Hip-Hop community needs to organize and vote. They are few and we are many. Stop taking it up the ass and do something NOW!!! That's only if you care about your generation and your kids generations.

Turn off KMEL, WILD and anyother of them thugz if they don't support our community.

I respect siccness so much and thanks for letting me be a part of something that is not controlled by these cooperate thugz.

much respect for the independent radio game in the city. i enjoy listening to kpoo when i can get it. i hate the fact that a radio station based in the city has spotty reception in its home town. keep doing what u r doing.

Yeah dogg. I agree with you 100%. I got mad respect for you tryin to do something for music especially for the locals. The only problem is your radio station doesnt broadcast as far as theirs. If you could broadcast to San Jose and the North Bay and Oakland youd pick up more listeners. Some time I am in the Sco and its difficult to hear.

It would be nice to have equal competition, but I think the only way to get indie artists their share is by starting a new radio station that plays ALL bay or all rap etc. I think people would support it...and rappers would buy adds to help keep it afloat.

So basically, FUCK CLEAR CHANNEL. Someone from the bay with some skrill *E-40?* made an indy radio station and Davey D and everyone else switches spots.

They way things are going now, even 40 couldn't afford a radio station. That is some sad shit. The FCC is the reason why small stations like KPOO can't reach more of the Bay Area. They know being an indie stations attracts more listeners, because we have no play list. And we tell unbiased news, they don't.

Log onto kpoo.com sometimes even if ya'll not in the SCO area.
